One last thing, Harry must be capable of the same amount of power as Voldermort. Volermort used his powers before he knew he was a wizard - to hurt and punish people, e.g. hanging the rabbit etc. harry also used his powers before he knew he was a wizard, the obvious being he could talk to snakes, not so obvious, when duddly tapped on the glass and harry got mad at him, the glass vanished and the reappered to trap duddly inside. He didn't use his wand, he didn't cast a spell, he just thought it and it happened. Plus how come lilly and james had a secret keeper? why did they have to hide their whereabouts? if it was purely because they were against the death eaters and voldermort then way did LV tell Lilly to stand aside and not just kill her Lily's (two "L"'s, not three) parents are dead (JK Rowling interview the day after HBP came out). I'm wanting to say she's also confirmed that Lily was, in fact, Muggle-born. That would rule out the Lily-Gryffindor bloodline theory. The fact that Harry was able to do magic before Hogwarts is kind of irrelevant, since all the children could, apparently. I think Hermione or one of the other Muggle-borns mentions it. Lily and James had a secret-keeper after they found out that Voldemort heard about the prophesy, and interpreted it to mean Harry was the one who could kill him. That's why they had the secret-keeper, they knew they (or actually, their son) was being hunted. I dont' know why Lily was told to step aside before she was killed, other than the fact that Lily had the CHOICE to live, and the fact that she didn't meant she actually made a sacrifice, which is what saved Harry's life. Since James was killed immediately, he wasn't given the opportunity to make that sacrifice. You're right, there's probably something more to this story, but it could just be that she needed an out that she could refuse, thereby making the sacrifice that saved her son. I personally don't think the color of the eyes is as important as the fact that he has his mother's eyes. Green is the least common eye color, and the fact that his stands out makes it more obvious that he has his mother's eyes. If the color were a major story-point, I don't think they would have left Daniel Radcliffe's exceedingly blue eyes blue. Even without contacts, they could have touched up the film, making them green to fit the story.

Posted: Thursday 4 January 2007 04 59 40 pm in topic:Eragon I doubt it, the movie has recieved very bad reviews for good reason, not only is the continuity bad (Saphira's armour was full face before she put it on and only covered her forehead afterwards) but it was awfully rushed in that towards the end it changed between night and day very fast many times and also the dragon grew up in the space of one flight and they crossed then entire land in the space of about 3 days along with a side trip back to almost where they started to rescue the elf. And the flying thing Durza rode in the battle was just wrong, very wrong indeed. As my boyfriend pointed out, the huge displays to promote the film in cineworld (big pictures of each character) revealed very basic photoshop errors in that the patterns on the swords were photoshopped on straight even though the blade was angled so there was a triangular gap between the end of the pattern and the sword hilt and the pattern wasn't finished, it was just a sction cut out of a larger piece. Then of couse there is the total abscence of any of the book plot. They took no care over making the movie at all.

OoP was my favorite book so far. I'm an American and I think it would be a bad idea to film the Harry Potter movies in the USA.

I suppose they must have to get the names but meh...complete murder of book. Worst book to film converson I have ever seen.

And she wasn't nine, was she? I'm sure it won't be that long.. eleven years - say if the HP7 film comes out.. it wouild be 2010 really depending on how quickly they get on to HBP. It'll be 2009 or 2010 anyway. And the first movie was made in 2001. That's not eleven years - and it definitely won't take until 2012.

Saw Hoodwinked again... Accepted...absolutely fantastic, brilliant, totally hilarious...I want to go to a college like that....I thoroughly recommend this film to everyone... The Devil Wears Prada... also brilliant, bit slow going sometimes but very funny anyway and pretty too. Click... Slow to start, predictable end but very good anyway, worth watching.
