You know I wouldn't be surprised if while she was writing the last book, she would also be writing her encyclopaedia. I mean when you're writing away, you must have thoughts, "Oh that should be explained elsewhere" but you might not necessarily have a place to put it in. Does that make sense!!?
I'm with Mafalda, I agree it won't be til the end of next year for one or the other. I hope the book is first but somehow think it will be the film.

Good spot Snow_Fight. The writers for the film get hints from JK about where the story's going. I get the feeling that Aberforth's going to be nothing like Dumbledore at all.

mmm, i prefer oliver wood, i love his accent. I can remember going to the cinema to see the first film with my friends and when he came on screen (and spoke), we were like 'wow'! lol. And i like this guy who played someone on the Slytherin Quidditch team in the first film. I don't know who he was meant to be though, just an extra I think

I've only just watched the first one!! LOL, i dont mean to be behind on things i just never go to the cinema and we never seem to buy the DVD's or videos.....but thas just because we dont actually have a dvd player....all of the ones we've had have broke
not nice.......
anyway, im hoping to see it eventually....no matter what it takes! the last film i watched in the cinema was shrek 2......thas basically the only film ive seen in the cinema apart from harry potter and the philosophers stone
still havent seen goblet of fire yet!!!

Author JK Rowling hinted last night Hermione will have a romance with Ron in the seventh and last Harry Potter book.
JK told fans in New York that Hermione would "see herself entwined with a person whose identity you can probably guess."
She also grinned when she mentioned fans who "want Ron and Hermione."
In the next Potter film - the fifth - Helena Bonham Carter, 40, will play Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange.
Ooooh go Ron/Hermione shippers!

With HP at least, I suspect they actually film more than they actually put out on the big screen/DVD so that it secures the Special Edition Box Sets with extra footage in say 10 years time! They can't well go back to it as the actors get older
I believe a good example of that would be Peeves, who was filmed for the first movie, but I didn't think he made it into the movie at all.

Yeah - makeup would be way easier than trying to digitally sync up the voice with the lips, plus less time consuming in terms of editing the film afterward.
