Head Girl and Head Boy selections

This is from a HP site,mistakes in the books and like you see ppl thought that this is a mistake(James was a head boy,but he wasn't a prefect)

Sirius says Harry's dad, James, was never a prefect - but in an earlier book, Hagrid told Harry his father was head boy. (JK Rowling's response: You don't have to be a prefect to be a Head Boy or Girl.)

Thanks Fluffy bear. I'll give everyone one more week to put themselves forward or nominate someone (with the nominated person's agreement) for Head Boy or Head Girl before setting up a final vote in the Great Hall. Bear in mind, this time around it's a free-for all (any number of people can put themselves forward from any House), as we've already got 2 names for possible Head Boy from Ravenclaw and it would be unfair to remove anyone from the nominations at this stage. The Common Room pre-elections which Gecko suggested will be for the next round of Head Boy and Head Girl selections after this round.

So whatever House you're in, if you would like to put yourself of someone forward, feel free to do it now - election day is 23rd February.
