Sirius comes out from around a corner in Diagon Alley. She spots one of her best-friends, Celesine Darker at an out-door table of what used to be Florean Fortescues Ice-Cream Parlor. She walks towards her, her bag hitting against her back. She flops down next Celestine and cries,"I couldn't stand that place anymore, Celestine. I've ran away and I'm NOT, going back.

Alaina sat alone in her room, crying. She was never going back, never going to be in the world in which she belonged. She was forced back into the Muggle world after being where she belonged, the Wizarding world, for a full year.

Alaina thought about the best day of her life, the day her Hogwarts letter came. Alaina had always been weird. Ever since she was 4 and went to the zoo. She saw a snake. It talked to her. At least she thought it had. She told her mom and her mom told her she was imagining things. The next Christmas, Alaina asked for a snake, but her mom said no. Alaina always knew she had not imagined that snake talking to her, for every other time she went to the zoo, she talked to her snake friend.

But she made a mistake on a class trip to the zoo in first grade. She was visiting her snake friend like always and talking to him. But the class bully saw and heard her. From that day on, she was known as the 'weird girl'. She never made a single friend. Sure, she had acquaintances, but no one ever invited her to their houses.

Her parents just thought she was shy, totally unlike her older sister, who was Miss. Popular. But that all changed the summer she turned 11.

One day, a strange man with a long white beard appeared at the door. He introduced himself as Albus Dumbledore. Dumbledore explained about Hogwarts and reassured her parents that he was not crazy. Then Alaina was taken to Diagon Alley.

The year that followed was the best year of her life. She made two great friends, Sirius and Celistine. Unfortunately, when her parents learned of the dark happenings in the Wizarding world, they forbid her from returning to Hogwarts the following year. She had been spending the last few months in the same secondary school as her 15 year old sister. She was once again the 'weird girl'.

The all-consuming voice told him that he was to return to Hogwarts, using any means necessary.

"Hey, you ok?" Alphonse said to Edward. They were inside of Leaky Cauldron, drinking when Alphonse noticed Edward spacing out.

Max wandered into Alaina's room and lay his head in her lap. "Oh, Max, you're the only one who really understands me in the Muggle world."

Alaina's mom shouted up to her. "Do your homework, sweetie!"

Alaina hadn't started any homework. What was the point? It was all Muggle stuff. She had no urge to learn in the Muggle schools. But she had no choice, it was up to her parents which school she went to. She hated her school. She was failing all her subjects because she didn't want to do any homework.

From the moment she stepped into the school building in the morning, she was made fun of. The other kids made up stories about where she had been the previous year. Some said she was in prison, other said her parents didn't want her anymore so they gave her up but her new parents decided to give her back. It was miserable. The worst part was, when she felt like she really hated one of her fellow students, their nose started to bleed. It was uncontrollable. The students soon figured out it was her who was doing this, but the teachers had no way of punishing her because she never touched any of the students.

This new wizarding power had earned her a new title at school. Witch. Even though she was really a witch, Alaina hated this. Because she feared her fellow students would find out the truth and the whole Wizarding world would be discovered by Muggles all because of her.

"Oh my gosh, Sirius, I was just starting to write you a letter!" Celistine exclaimed. Then she realized what Sirius had just said. "You can stay at my place for a while if you want to, my parents won't mind." then she got out a new peice of parchment and started writing a letter to Alaina. "So, how's your 'gallows bird' doing?" Celistine asked as she wrote. She took one look at the look on Sirius's face and said, astonished, "Y-you didn't sick it on muggles at the orphanage, did you?" At this point, even Celistine's spotted owl, Serena, stared at Sirius, waiting for an answer.

Alaina wished she had an owl. At this point she had no contact with the Wizarding World. There was no way she could contact any of them. There was no way Max would be able to fly a letter to Sirius or Celistine. Alaina laughed at the thought. And no one in the Wizarding world used email or telephones. She had to figure out a way to contact someone, anyone who could get her out of the Muggle world!

Not that she didn't love her family, she did love them a lot. But she was just different. Alaina didn't belong in the Muggle world anymore than her sister belonged in the Wizarding world. But her parents just didn't understand that she couldn't stay in the Muggle world forever.

"Don't call Cedric that!,"Sirius snapped,"'Tis bad enough when the muggle children call him that but I would have expected better of you. And at Alaina's house right now."Sirius did not answer Celestine's second question."Thanks for the offer, Celestine, but I've sent Cedric with a message two nights ago adressed to Alaina. She hasn't responded yet, but the letter asked her to meet me at the leaky cauldron at six o'clock tonight. She wants to get out of the muggle world, too. We are going to try and think of ways to get out of it."

Alaina decided it was time to come up with a plan to get back into the Wizarding world. It was going to be a difficult task, as her parents were very over protective and hard to convince. As Alaina thought of this, she remembered the day she got her Hogwarts letter....

It was a hot day in the beginning of August. Alaina was looking forward to her 11th birthday, which was August 16th. Her parents were sure to get her something good. She was sitting on her bed fantasizing about what it would be when she heard a soft tapping on her window. It was a large brown owl with a letter in its beak! Max went into a barking frenzy. Alaina shut him out of her room, as she knew he would want to eat the owl, and let the big bird in.

She grabbed the letter and looked at it, it was addressed to her! Alaina tore it open and read it. It explained all about Hogwarts and Wizards and Witches. Alaina knew at once this was where she belonged. An avid reader of fantasy novels, Alaina had no doubts about the school.

Her parents on the other hand, were another story. They insisted it was a fake and no way could wizards exist. They said no way could Alaina attend a 'witch school'. Alaina was devastated and sent her refusal letter about Hogwarts back with the owl. She moped around for 2 days, as the glimpse of going to an exciting school faded into the darkness. But one day 3 days after the letter arrived, Albus Dumbledore himself appeared on the front stoop.

He was able to fully convince Alaina's parents that Hogwarts and the Wizarding world were real. He also swore them and Alaina's sister into secrecy about the wizarding world. A few weeks later, Alaina was on the Hogwarts Express about to have the best school year of her life....

A loud bang on her window snapped Alaina out of her remanicing. It was a large black bird! A raven! There was only one person Alaina knew with a raven. And it was one of her best friends, Sirius.

"Of course!" said Edward convincingly. "I'm just fine. But you know what, I actually have to go."

"Er... Alright," said Alphonse.

"Great! Tata!"

Edward jumped out of his chair with an unbelievable air of confidence, and left The Leaky Cauldron for Diagon Alley, where he purchased all his school books.

He would need them - he was going back to school. His parents would have to lump it.

The Auror Headquarters, on the second floor of the Ministry of Magic, was practically empty- not an unusual occurance since the return of Lord Voldemort. The only person there was getting ready to leave for a few errands in Diagon Alley.

After a year of retirement, living in her ancestral home in Scotland, Raylene Lindsay had been approached by the new Minister- Rufus Scrimgeour, the previous Head of the Auror office- and asked to return to the department. After all, she had fought in the First War- and was one of the few still alive to tell the tale.

But it wasn't for her skills with a wand that Rufus had asked for, it was for her divinatory gifts- her Inner Eye. Her experimental techniques had yielded valuable information about the enemy's actions and movements for several years.

But then she had been abducted by the Death Eaters. The result was more unnecesary deaths, and almost her sanity. After she had recovered, Raylene had avoided using her gifts- and the memories of that time- by focusing on being an active Auror. But she couldn't deny a direct order from the Minister of Magic. With a weary sigh, she turned her back on the maps and left for the streets of London.

"Okay, calm down, it was just a joke," Celistine replied as she sent Serena of to deliver the letter to Alaina, "you know I like Cedric." Celistine sighed as she looked longingly at the beloved icecream parlor, "Things have ben so dreary lately." But then she brightened, remembering what her mom had told her before Celistine left for Diagon Alley, "Guess what! My mom joined the Order last week! She told me this morning."

"Well that's bitter-sweet and brilliant!,"Sirius replied,"On the one hand she will be helping stop Voldemort-will you stop flinching!-but on the other hand, she might die."At tyhe look on Celestine's face she added,"but on the other hand, I don't have anyother hands to make you worried with."

Alaina quickly shut Max out of her room and ran to open the window. Cedric flew inside and stuck out his leg. Alaina quickly untied the letter. "Cedric, stop pecking me! Oh, are you hungry? Probably. I only have some dog biscuits up here. I hope you like those." Cedric ravenously ate the biscuits and then settled in on Alaina's bed for a nap.

Alaina read the letter. Sirius was leaving the orphanage! And meeting Cellistine at Diagon Alley. Sirius wanted to know if she could join them. Oh, how Alaina longed to join her friends again! That was it! She'd had enough. Alaina desperately needed to leave the Muggle world.

She quickly jotted down a reply to Sirius. She wrote that she was going to go to Diagon Alley if she could convince her parents. And would Sirius ask Cellistine if Alaina could stay with Cellistine? Alaina was sure that Cellistine's family wouldn't mind, but she wanted to be sure.

Alaina tied the letter to the raven's leg and opened the window. Cedric flew off into the setting sun. Now the only thing left to do was to convince her parents she could go to London...

Sirius stood up suddenly. A dark cloud had past over the sun as though Morpheus himself had decided to come early."Cedric,"she breathed. And ran off to meet him without a word to Celestine. She eturned with piece of parchment in her hand and a worried expression on her face. She looked at celestine and wordlessly held out the letter."We have to go get Alaina,"she said as Celestine read the letter. Her eyes growing wider and wider wth each word that came out of the crumpled sheet."Do you have your broom? It's time for your first act as soon to be Minister.'
