"We start at the first chapter tomorrow," he told the class at the end of the lesson. "You may pack up and leave."

Stan had a free period next. He hadn't thought about how to spend it before now. Perhaps one of the other teachers had one too.

As Rowena ushered the last pair of Third-years out of her classroom, she sighed exasperatedly. A simple lesson on Disarming, she'd thought- not a duel between the cockiest pair of students in the class. A quick few body-bind's had sorted them out, though, and by the end of class everyone had just about grasped the spell. With any luck, they could move on to Stunning the lesson after next.

Now with no one to trip over, Rowena tidied up the room before checking her timetable. She smiled, a free and then the Hufflepuff-Ravenclaw Fourth years. With a desire for a strong cup of tea, she began to stroll down to the Staff Room.

Artemis tried to walk into Divination discreetly-- but didn't succeed. She could feel everyone's eyes on her, wondering why she hadn't been at the start of term feast. She sat down and tried to ignore the staring.

Amanda smiled as the young girl entered the room and sat down. She looked down at the partchment which listed the role, and looked up again. "You must be Artemis. My name is Professor Taseff. Welcome, to Divination." The girl nodded and smiled. Amanda gazed around the room, which was oddly quiet now, and then placed her crystal ball on a lovely iron stand on her desk. She rubbed her hands across it, and the mist inside stirred. There were smaller balls on the tables around the room.
"Take out a parchment and quill. "she said, not taking her eyes off her own ball. "And write down what you see. Open your minds. You have much to discover, I'm sure of it."

Artemis dug out her quil and looked into the crystal balls foggy depths. She liked divination. It was her second best subject, after potions. As she settled down into a trance-like state, images began to reveal themselves to her. Artemis patiently cleared her mind and gleaned pictures from the ball. She untangled meanings from the swirling strands of fog, occasionally writing something down on her parchement. Artemis was so indepth, she didn't notice that even the teacher was staring at her now.

Lily made her way to the staff room for a nice break from screaming children. She loved her job and loved the students- most of them, anyway- but sometimes all she wished for was a pile of blueberry scones, a warm fire, and a pot of tea.

On the stairway, Rowena was bumped into by a pair of First years- they were twins by the look of it, a boy and a girl. They were both blushing furiously as they babbled apologies. She smiled gently at them.
"I'm fine, don't worry yourselves. Now your names are...?"

"Um, I'm Clare Drewett- and this is Jason, my brother, Miss."

"Okay, and do you know how to get to your lesson?"

They looked at each other, sighed and shook their heads. "No, Miss. We're looking for our History of Magic class."

Sighing inwardly at how her cup of tea would have to wait, Rowena turned around. "Well then Miss Drewett, Mr Drewett, let's make our way up to the Sixth floor and find your class."

Hogwarts was always a fast paced school, in fact he had never attended a school with as much determined kids as this one he thought as he paced around the Herbology hot house making sure the plants weren't withered.

A group of fourth years appeared at the entrance of the hot house and when he swung the door open they trudged in and sat down. They were a group of Slytherins of course, always sniggering and pointing out the cons of people.

He sighed as he saw the amount of troube-makers in his Herbology group; Marcus Cornaby, Ian Karman, and the worst of all of them Victor Fruil. When the hot house was finally full with his students he took his place at the front of the class and waved his wand. The class went silent as he cast the charm on them, he smiled as he saw their puzzled expressions.

"Now, this year is going to be like no other Herbology year you've ever experienced. A whole hot house full of rival houses is not pretty so I will teach you to get along, this year partners will be inter-house" he informed

A collective groan echoed through the hot house, he chuckled at this as he knew what it felt like.

A tap at the hot house door told John to look around. He moved slowly over to the clear door and saw a small boy he recognised as a Hufflepuff. When he swung the door open the boy spoke in a trembling voice.

"The headmaster would like to see you" he said

He sighed, the headmaster had a habit of wanting him at the most vital points of his class.

"Alright, I'll go but when I come back I expect your mandrakes to be in a fresh pot!" he informed the class.

He followed the boy to the Entrace Hall and dimissed him but before he did he whispered to the boy;

"Ten points to Hufflepuff for knocking" he said as he winked at the boy.

Having found the class eventually- apparently they had actually had to move to an empty classroom on the Fourth floor after a case of Peeves, which they found out after having ink bottles thrown at them- Rowena made her way down to the Staff Room. Peering around the door there seemed to be few there, and a glance at the dusty clock on the wall told her why. It was getting close to the next lesson.

With a dark look on her face, Rowena hastily made a cup of tea and grabbed the last teacake to eat on her way back upstairs for the Fourth years. Seeing her reflection on the silver teacake tray, she saw there was a rather large and very obvious smudge of ink on her nose. Putting down the tea she tried to rub it off with her thumb...then with the sleeve of her robes... then a litle spell...

The stairs were almost taunting him of the excersise in which he needed.
He strode towards the headmasters office, he found it quite easily as he had been in their quite a few times during his time at the school.
He came into the corridor where the gargoyles were talking and when he walked towards them they called insults. But when he reached them and pulled out his wand and pointed it at them menacingly they fell into silence.
"Can I go up" he asked while pocketing his wand
"Password please" teased the gargoyle.
He had never liked the statues or ghosts at Hogwarts, they were oblivious to the cold rush they gave you when they walked through you. And he especialy disliked those pesky Peeves, oh how he would like to beat them at their own game.
"Let me in" he growled, immediately becoming agitated.
"No password, no entry" sighed the gargoyle sarcasticly

Professor Taseff stood behind the girl and glanced into the ball, interpreting the shapes that swirled within it. There was so much to discover, for each of them, different destinies, different interpretations, different pathways. But all were affected by what was in store for Hogwarts and the people within it. Amanda sensed that all control Hogwarts once had, the protection, the autonomy was breaking down, and it was only a matter of time before a new force would be at odds with them. Could this child see that? Or was it her own fortune she saw. Amanda looked at the shapes, and couldn't help but gasp. "Oh!" she said, and immediately she felt ashamed for causing a scene.

Artemis's eyes widened. How could anything be at odds with the power here? A small, "Oh!" from behind her made her jump and turn around. The proffessor was looking over her shoulder, and had obviously seen the same thing she had.

Lily smiled as she walked into her classroom. She had first years in just under ten minutes. Really fifteen because they were always late for the first few days. She prefered the younger students. They didn't give you as much lip and they were eager to learn anything and in awe of whatever you showed them. Especially the muggle-borns.
Lily rearranged her papers and waited for the first of them to arrive.

Marc Demont stepped into the staff room after a long session at the forest today. He had managed to track down a couple of unicorns who belonged to a separate herd. But the weather was too hot and stuffy for him to continue. He hated hot days.

He proceeded to grab a cup of cold pumpkin juice from the pantry when he spotted Professor Rowena clearing the soiled patch on her robe.

She obviously was having no look in removing the offending smudge, so Rowena gave up with a sigh of exasperation. She straightened her robes and took a bite of the now cold teacake.

As she picked up her tea and turned to leave, Rowena saw that Professor Demont had come in at some point. He was looking over at her, and she smiled a bit sheepishly.
"How was your first lesson of the year, Marc?"
