Will PoA be as popular?

I was reading the comments in the Leaky Cauldron about HP trailer. And this one girl said that Harry Potter movie craziness is over. That people who are not fans of HP will not go see this movie.

And I thought about it - I mean yeah, we all gonna go see it - because we are crazy about HP, because we cant get enough of it. But what about others who are not fans?

Many people didnt know what to expect of HP1. THey went to see it out of curiosity. Thats why it beat all of the records. This movie - will it be able to do that? I mean I know of couple of none-HP-fans who are saying "What, they have another one?"

What do you think? ANyone heard the opinions of non-fans yet?

Well my best friend isnt a big hp fan but she goes to see the movies but.....yes I think its out of curiosity.

Most of my friends aren't harry Potter crazed but they have seen 1st and 2nd movie and they will go see the 3rd

I've got a friend who's pretty much a Harry Potter free person. He went to see the movies due to family influence. He didn't think much of them.

i think that this movie will sell big just to the sheer popularity of the hp series. people who haven't read the books will go with people who have, and people who have read the books may go seen it twice or thrice. ootp sold like mad... probably set some records... people certainly aren't getting tired with the hp series. i guess if the movie is really bad or doesn't get good reviews, there might only be one big wave of people who go to see it, but people will surely go see it.

I watched the 1st one without knowing in advance as my friends were the ones who brought the tic for me. I haven't own a single HP book and have no idea who the heck is Harry Potter...after watching the 1st movie I was like...awesome

Then the 2nd movie trailer came when I was watching some movie and decided to watch that. (I didn't know HP is a series) until after I watched that movie and came home with a bundle of HP books.

So my conclusion is...you don't have to be a fan to watch the movie or rather it is easier to continue the series by watching instead of reading
(I'm too lazy to read and the only thing I read is HP besides my textbooks)

Plus PoA is the best book in my opinion so I believe PoA the movie will do well

Yes, this book is the best Choki. You know it and I know it and other fans know it - but other people are clueless.

Its just people tend to think that 1st movie is always the best. ANything additional movies with the same theme are gonna be worse as they go. So Im afraid that not many people know that this one has a different actor and it will be very different and so on... They wont give this movie a chance. Like "been there done that" type of thing.

Like if this movie will be WOAh! better then anything - people like Cougarman mentioned still wont see it, even out of curiousity.

I think Mint has a point. Many of my friends don't think much of harry potter. They weren't very impressed by the films, they said the acting was too cheesy(stupid friends )

Hm... Stupid friends??? That sounds familliar... Oh, yeah! I have them!!! Almoust all of my friends think HP is stupid book for children and they don't understand that I'm the one of the youngest on HP forums.

I think, from a tally of my friends, that this movie will be as big...just because of the fact that we're all scared out of our wits that we're not going to have another chance to see these kids act as the characters. Sure, none of us think the acting ability is academy award winning, but I've grown attached to them. But that's another story.

And to judge whether the movies will be as big now, when the movie's opening is still...6, 7 months away...is...well, it wont be accurate. I know my attention to Mr. Potter and his story wains as I finish the book, or I've seen the movie 600 times...just becaue I need a break. When the movie comes close to release...I'm sure the excitment will be just as large as it has been in the past....or...at least it will be in my own mind.

Devinci - u and your friend are HP fans right? (its just u said that u want to see this characters before they grow - so u must love the films).

Of course we can't be 100% accurate - we are just theorizing.

Gower and Female Alien - your friends are the people Im talking about. I wonder if trailers alone will be able to convince them to go see the movie.

I really want it to be a big thing - because it was just sooo cool when the first movie came out - there was soo much commotion about it - everyone on TV, Radio, Magazines were mentioning Harry Potter and how he bit the records....it was just sooo cool!! and i want it to happen again.

Well, i think it will be a good movie for thoes who dont like HP, cuz its a lot darker, and as they say, it will have some romance (uck!!), but for HP fans, i think we will be very dissipointed. Since there is no quiddich and no cho, i will think this movie wasent as good as i would think it could of been. Anyways, we cant judge it till it comes out.

I would say the PoA trailer makes the movie sounds really interesting...because of the graphics and stuff...

And there is quidditch in there. THats when dementors atack them.

Choki -Well - look at "hunted mansion" movie (disney) it has all sorts of cool graphics but many people wont see it because its kiddish

After watching the PoA teaser trailer I must say that I think it's gonna be at least better than the CoS and the SS. At least better! It made me feel so excited! And...(oohh!!!! argghhhh!!) we will watch the movie in June!! (at least in your country... I live in Greece, so I don't know when I'm gonna watch the PoA movie)
