Tom Riddle casting speculation for HBP

Postby Mistress Siana » Wednesday 14 June 2006 12:53:37pm

Do you think Christian Coulson will be cast as Tom again? He was already 24 when he starred in CoS, so I doubt he'll still be a convincing teenager when HBP is filmed. I wonder...In HBP, we see Tom at the age of 11, 16, about 19, and about 30. How many different actors will there be? Will Ralph Fiennes take the part of the older Voldemort? Will they cut some of the scenes?

Ideas?

U know I never thought of that. Surely they're going to have to do some magic with make-up here and I can't believe they won't be able to use different actors.

Perhaps they could have different actors of different ages with a plastic- face-mask (Mrs Doubtfire style) on that makes them all have the same facial features. From an artistic flair view, that would be something special!

I think it's quite common to have different actors for different ages, as long as they resemble each other. When I watched Narnia, I thought the boy who played Edmond(?) would make a perfect young Tom. I hope they'll cast Christian Coulson again for teen and twen Tom, with a little make-up that should be possible, and imbd states they're in negotiations. I think the greatest problem will be the scene in which an already half-deformed Voldemort visits DD. I mean, let's say we have Christian for Voldemort when he still looked human, and Ralph Fiennes for the final version. Now, the two of them look absolutely nothing alike, so who'll play the mixture?

Yeah think you're right. "Edmund" would be a good choice but I think he might be getting too old for it too now. I think they'll have to have someone new so here's hoping they choose a good actor!

Yeah Christian would be good for the mid teens but I think Ralph could be madeover to look like a half deformed LV, most of it was makeup in GOF, which I thought was pretty good and I'm sure they could do something good again.
