General questions...

Postby draconeedsahug » Sunday 5 March 2006 4:43:58am

Just wanted a post where people could just ask the questions they wanted and discuss theories that they have... Here's mine:

(1) This isn't mine but I thought it was interesting all the same. Is Madam Pince, the Hogwarts librarian, actually Snape's mother, Eileen Prince?
(2) Is Voldemort workig towards making Hogwarts a Horcrux? Is the school indestructible?
(3) What will Voldemort's reaction be to Snape now that Snape has done what he could never do and kill Dumbledore?
(4) Could the DADA teaching job be a Horcrux?
(5) If the DADA job really is cursed and Snape really is on Voldemort's side, couldn't Voldemort just lift the curse now Snape had the job? Or did Voldemort know that Snape couldn't stay at Hogwarts after the end of the year? Could the same be said for Dumbledore if he death really was planned/faked?
(6) Did Snape love Lily and did Voldemort offer Lily a chance to live as a personal favour to Snape?
(7) Does Snape have a son? On JKR's official site FAQ, someone asks if Luna is Snape's daughter. JKR replies by saying Snape does not have a daughter. Does that mean he has a son? Why not just say Snape doesn't have children?
(8) Harry is "hating himself, repulsed by what he is doing" when force-feeding Dumbledore the potion, just as "revulsion and hatred [was] etched in the harsh line of [Snape's] face." Does this prove Snape was acting on Dumbledore's orders and was Dumbledore's man through and through just like Harry?
(9) The last word of the seventh book has been confirmed as 'scar.' If Harry prevails against Voldemort, will his scar disappear?

There you go. Feel fre to reply...

1: probably not

2: nah, he was looking for stuff in Hogwarts, like Gryffindor's sword

3: probably have him over for tea and medals, i dunno

4: no, it has to be something physical, a job is a concept

5: Voldemort could lift it at his leisure, but hasn't

6: probably not, the feelings of others were never one of Voldemort's great worries, particularly concerning love

7: probably a mischosen word, I don't recall it ever being mentioned that he has a kid, he's a single professional who I'm not sure has ever seen a woman naked, I doubt he has a kid

8: possibly, there's been arguments over whether or not legilimency was used between them, and what was said, could be that dumbledore's final plea was for death rather than life

9: unlikely, very unlikely, but not unpoetic

9. I always thought that his scar would disappear when i heard that the last word in the book was "scar". Perhaps it might be that he will never feel pain from it again.

Yeah, well the pain's to do with Voldemort, so with him gone there'd be no pain.

Maybe he learns to be proud of the scar. Before he found out he was a wizard he used to like the scar, thought it made him a bit unique. Maybe when he can associate the scar with his own accomplishments in defeating Voldemort, instead of just associating it with the deaths of his parents, he'll come to accept it as being a part of his own identity.

if harry survives and the scar is still there he'll have little choice but accept it as part of himself
the associations he'll make about will probably be mixxed: he'll never stop missing his parents and everyone else he has lost and (probably) will lose but he can't deny because of his mother's sacrifice he was able to defeat voldemort

hmm, i'm not sure if i'm making sense here (i know, i think to much and to put in writing is not always simple  )

3) I don't think Hogwarts will become a horcrux but I do think it houses one - in the room of requirement... TR had plenty of chances to hide one there when he worked at Borgin and Burkes and I think he was responsible for damaging the vanishing cabinet to protect his horcrux.

4) I agree with Chimera - it has to be an object of some sort which is also why I don't believe Harry is a horcrux either, he is not an object he is a living thing.

Snow, what about Nagini? I also believe Harry isn't a horcrux, but because Voldemort had neither the opportunity nor the inclination to make him one. If a snake can be a horcrux then I don't see why a person can't.

As for the point about an object: Harry Potter is a bunch of electrical impulses in the frontal cerebral lobes, his body however is an object.
