The Battle For Hogwarts

Postby menotyoo » Sunday 19 October 2003 7:58:44pm

OPkay, I can't put this topic in regular theories cuz it might bring up spoilers from OoP... but we all know that it will be really easy for LV or other Death Eaters to get into Hogwarts in future books. Wormtail! With Wormtail working with LV they can get in through the Womping Willow or another passage maybe. Remember, Lupin still hasn't told DD that others knew about his monthly visits to the shrieking shack. Not only is that a good hideout for Voldie but it provides an entrance into the most protected place in the wizarding world. Plus: I read in some article that a publishing company involved with the Harry Potter project has bought the rights for "Harry Potter and the Battle for Hogwarts" or something similar. What do you all think? Is it likely that Hogwarts will be attacked?

I thought Lupin told DD everything at the end of PoA. Anyway, i think there mite b a battle for hogwarts towards the end of the series. I think the statement of several characters that hogwarsts is the safest place in the wizarding world may b challenged.

Il was clearly stated in PoA that the secret passage through the Whomping Willow was created so that Lupin could hide in the Shrieking Shack at full moon. He was accompanied every time by a teacher. Therefore, Dumbledore certainly knows about the passage since he had it created. It will probably be watched day and night. Voldie and his friends will have to find another way in.

but was he taken there by a teacher? wasnt it james, sirius and peter that went with him?
but still i cant see that DD would leave that passage open for people to just come through, especially as he knows the peter knows about it.

But i do think that there will be a battle for hogwarts, i mean V has managed to infultrate it already in book 1 with Quirrell and book 4 with Crouch/Moody.

I know that security will be massively increased now that V is back in full swing, but what's to stop him getting on the Hogwarts express at the start of term, i mean it's not like only students can get through to the platform?

Lupin was allways accompanied to the entrance by a teacher (or so we were told). When the teacher was gone, the others would sneak out of the castle and meet Lupin.

Maybe Hogwarts is protected by enchantments of good and love just like Harry is. That would make it harder for Voldie to get in there. Infiltration through the Hogwarts express is an interesting thought. He could just slip in under the cover of an invisibility cloak or something. Unless Mad Eye is around...

I also think that, even though there is the presence of the whomping willow, DD would never allow it to be unguarded as so someone like LV could inflitrate inwards...plus...a title such as Harry Potter and the battle for hogwarts is just not lyrical enough for JKR taste...good thought though! : )

or he could always do like Crouch did, and make himself look like someone else, i'm guessing that even Moody couldnt detect that until he was in the castle and then he could use the marauders map

i think there will be a battle at hogwarts in the 7th book, but voldemort won't try to sneak in i don't think, because he's going to bring all of his death eaters with him, so i think he'll use a more direct approach, like blowing a hole in the castle wall with a powerfull spell

but Sacred isn't hogwarts protected my spells and charms?i highly doubt anyone is going to be able to blow a hole in the castle wall and anyway LV is much smarter than that

precisely right. Voldie will come up with a much more subtle and sophisicated plan as he has done in the books so far.

this is true that Hogwarts is highly protected, and maybe it won't happen, but i think that voldemort will get very powerful, beyond where he was 16 years ago, but then again maybe not, you never know with jkr
