Yeah, those two are really obscure...

In Prisoner of Azkaban, there is a hint that "Scabbers" might not be dead ("Scabbers", aka. Wormtail, being the bad guy). After the Quidditch match, Harry asks Ron if he can just give the fight with Hermione a rest (remember, they think Crookshanks just ate Scabbers) and Ron says "No I can't. If she just acted like she was sorry - but she'll never admit she's wrong, Hermione. She's still acting like Scabbers has gone on vacation or something." Another instance of Ron accidentally finding the truth and not knowing it... Scabbers is on vacation in Hagrid's hut.

 you know what? When I heard this theory, I thought, cool, and read the chapter 13 in OotP really hard to figure it out, and I got it... then I lost it. haha... It's there, and I'll probably remember it at 3:30 in the morning, and I'll defy my family's no-internet-after-midnight rule and come down here and post it for you.

I do know this, the "culprit" in Chapter 13 isn't always the obvious person, and they themselves don't always show up... sometimes it's just a mention of them.

Yeah, but you better read the whole book, though... that's what I had to do to find it. Wish I could remember what it was now.

I would read it right now, but I'm working on the books in order, and it's slow going (I had a two-day break when I read the latest Left Behind book, "Glorious Appearing")... so when I get around to OotP again (I'm on PoA right now) I'll post if it comes to me.

I know that the green light in this dream symbolized harry's memory of his parents death, but maybe it also symbolizes that Snape or Malfroy will be responsible for harry's(heaven forbid)death.

Just a quick point for anyone looking chapter 13 in OotP is 'Detention with Dolores' up to that point we just thought she was a horrible teacher, but it turns out in the end that she's really quite bad, sending the dementors on Harry and then going to use the crustacios(sp) curse on him aswell.
So I think that the bad guy was sort of revealed to be Umbridge.

Sort of, unless I missed something............ :???:

yes. thank you Emma.

I'm almost certain that was what I was talking about. I'm such a moron, I should take notes every time something is revealed to me while I'm reading, because the older I get, the more this happens.

pandora wrote:yes, I've listented to the interview also and he says he read the books and saw the character as a cruel domineering father, but thats the way I interpreted him anyway before the movie came out. I mean when Sirius says to "look at the way he[Crouch] treats his servants and you'll get an idea of the kind of man he is" isn't it even worse if you see Lucious being that way toward his own son? I'm not saying he hits him or anything like that but emotional abuse is often worse. I also found it interested that when harry says "you know that look your mother has, like she's got dung under her nose..." (GoF Ch. 13) Draco responds by going pink. People go pink when their embarrassed, why would he be embarrassed unless there was some truth to what Harry said? I just think that theres hope yet for Draco since DD says its your choices that make you what you are, he's got time to make some better choices just like Percy has smoe time to make some better choices.

Pandora you're right! That's whta I'm telling but nobody listents!I mean Sirius is good and he's one of the Black's!And he wasn't an inocent(sp?) child in school either(remeber what they did to Snape!)...And as pandora said Malfoy appears intelligent, funny, and attractive. And he's still a coward but one day he will have enough corage to oposite his dad.

And when JKR says that we would like to Draco be good cause of Tom and that Draco isn't Tom,maybe she's right, but Tom just opened eyes for me to look at Draco in another way, cause earlier I just looked at him as a coward and stupid bad guy,but when I have read the books again,I tried to understand him,who he really is...
