erm...well...Tom Riddle opened the chamber of secrets 50 years ago during his 5th year. So that is 15+50=65 and it was in book 2...so by book 5, Voldemort will be 68

...which will give DD an age of over 80, because he was Tom's teacher.

actually...hehe...JK said Dumbledore was 150
Voldemort was born in 1927. And Dumbledore defeated Grindelward in 1945. Hmmm...that happened right after Tom graduated from Hogwarts! When Tom Riddle was 18.
The defeat of a dark lord leads to a rise in another :-? How interesting...maybe the reason why Tom Riddle became Lord Voldemort has some implications with Grindelward?

i think grindewald and dd defeating him has a bigger significance in the story than jk has let on. was grindewald as powerful as voldemort, half as powerful, or was he just some dufus that called himself evil? i think we may find out his (or maybe her, you never know  ) significance hopefully in the next book.

and wow i never realized lv was a senior citizen! think he could get a discount on his butterbeers in the three broomsticks?

Perhaps DD defeat of Grindelward in 1945 is the big reason that LV is afraid of DD.

I never had a problem realizing Voldemort was near 70 (he did, after all, take great pains to be immortal, and besides, if Dumbledore is around 150, 70 ain't so bad  )

What gets me is that Hagrid's around 65 (thirteen years old fifty years ago, as of CoS)

Voldemort was the most powerful evil wizard in a century, meaning he must have been more powerful or more evil or both than Grindelwald, but not by much...

Interesting theory about Grindlewald and Voldemort, though...

If defeating one dark lord gives rise to another one then who`s say there won`t be another dark lord at least as strong as Grindelwald.

I think that one dark lord is going to be more powerful as the previous one, because if LV was about as powerful as Grindelwald then DD could probably destroy him easily since with age comes power (or at least knowledge).

So basically I think that there will be another dark lord who is stronger than LV. :-? :o

Harry Potter, the boy who lived and defeated the dark lord = A new dark lord? In terms of power, as the prophecy had stated, Harry Potter has powers that Voldemort doesn't. But such ending is...freaky

Yes... quite freaky. Quite freaky indeed.

And here I was hoping that Dumbldore would sacrifice himself for Harry, something would happen which bonds Harry and Snape, they forgive one another, Harry whoops Voldermort in a violent display of revenge, Snape becomes the new headmaster and Harry becomes the DADA teacher for many consecutive years, thus breaking the curse on the occupation. Oh, and Draco becomes a ferret permanently ...until he is fed to Buckbeak.

But Harry becoming the new Voldermort? That is downright creepy. Even for an evil genius such as myself... Kudos.

man that ending would throw people for a complete loop! just think if that really happened, you're reading the 7th book expecting harry to defeat lv and live happily ever after, but instead he defeats lv and becomes even more evil and powerful than him. lol that would be crazy.

but anyway, is it possible that voldemort and grindewald have/had some sort of connection with each other? possibly related to each other or knew each other in some way.
