That brings up another question, when are those paintings made. I mean, is there already one of Dumbledore somewhere, waiting to be put on the wall? Or are they normally made when the headmaster retires, so that if the headmaster dies before retiring, there's no painting?!

No, silver is werewolves, vampires are killed or maimed by; crosses, garlic, sunlight, holywater and a stake through the heart.

Yeah, Blade had silver bullets, knives, etc etc, because silver is for both werewolves and vampires! :D

Yeah, they do use wooden stakes alot! I was reffereing specifically to teh movies Blade (and Blade II) with westley snipes! Have you seen it? Inthat he uses alot of silver etc to get them!

Eveyone has different takes on what works and what doesn't, but they aren't real, so you cant' really prove on way or another, can you!!!

I just looked it up and Holly is right, silver is used on both Vampires and Werewolves. It symbolises purity......some interesting trivia there for you!

cool, I stand corrected  ...but they still use wooden stakes too, right? Either that our Alkaline Trio has their song lyrics wrong...he he he...

whatever, right? But if Snape was a vampire, do you think it would be a vampire as we know it, an agent of Satan, afraid of crosses, holy water, and all things Christian? Because that's a bit scary for me to comprehend...but you know, he does participate in Christmas, so he can't be one of those vampires, right?????

I would imagine one of the main reasons that silver was used in Blade is due to the differculty with firing wood from a gun!

Yep, it's on telly here, but I've never watched it though!

also, ontopic, I still think that a new death isn't necessary for good story..

I dont' think that it's necessary for a good story either, just likely since the books are getting darker and deeper etc... :-?
