He doesn't have to have a godmother

I have two godmothers and only one godfather. I think you can have as many as you want.

that's what i was thinking. besides, there are just too many places that J.K. Rowling would have given us a hint or clue, and there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING about this...

Maybe its Alice Longbottom. She was in the order like James and Lily, and she obviously can't take care of Harry.

This would help tie Harry and Neville further together.

Hi, Aberforth... welcome!

I'd say Alice Longbottom was as good as any other woman in the Order. I mean, only DD seemed to know about the prophecy, so no one could have established a conection between the Potters and the Longbottoms.

hmmm... Dumbledore knew, but I took it to mean that at least the rest of the Order knew, and obviously a great majority of the Death Eaters, although they didn't know the whole prophesy, which is probably what you're talking about... but at least Dumbledore, the Potters, and the other Marauders knew...

i'm not so sure about the relevance of the bones' family! i don't think there is really anything there, i mean, dean and seamus are mentioned in the boys dorm, but doesn't mean that there is a deeper connection in the story!

don't get me wrong, i don't think she'll play a hermione-, ginny- or luna-sized character... but i think she'll become more than just a familiar name used to even out the boy-girl ratio at hogwarts...

Boy-girl ratio??

you mean there are more boy characters that girls?? hadn`t really noticed... But she was mentioned several times in OotP, and she is the same year as harry. (don`t know if any of this means anything)

Yeah... I mean, you just get to know the names of more boys than girls. If you just went by names, then there would be a lot more boys than girls...

Not that I think this makes any difference, except that I think Susan Bones is just a name to even out the boy-girl ratio. I think we'll get to know her a little better, or at least her history, or her history in relation to Harry, Neville, or some other major character...

and now I'm kinda confusing myself...

I am a definite Susan-becoming-a-major-character shipper...

In Hebrew Susanna (the root of the name Susan) means 'Lily'

perhaps this a clue?
