just finished re-reading the series (for the 10th time :grin:

) and I'm now also jumping on the Regulus is RAB bandwagon. He's been mentioned twice so far, once in book 5 and book 6. We learn in book 5 that he was in the position to learn about the horcruxes. In book 6, we learn that he went on the run. I think he replaced the horcrux in the cave, stashed it at the Black's house and then was caught and killed. I'm absolutely certain that the locket in the Black's house is the missing horcrux.

I think that the old locket that they found in the cupboard or whatever in the beginning of the 5th book is actually the locket that was stolen from RAB and I think that the R and B stand for Regulus Black, Sirius's brother. It would make since too considering they were in the Black's house when they found it.

Okay so I did research to try and back up my theory that I just posted. And it said that Regulus's middle name is said to be Arcturus. But it was said to be.

I say that Sirius Bro would be way to obvious even though most of the clues do point to him with the locket in the house n all. I say it could be Amilia Bones using her mid name coz she did go missing for a while, she could have gone to the cave to do a bit of destroying.

Yeah JKR said that Regulas would be a fine guess. She wanted us to guess him and she stated this all in her interview after the book was released. Although it may seem obvious I'm afraid it's probable.

Personally I am quite keen to learn more about Regulas anyway and I'd like to know why he was killed, how he was killed, how he helped LV and I'd like to see flashbacks from someone to see what Sirius's relationship was like with him - perhaps a memory or something - who would provide this I don't know - Lupin maybe?

It my be a stretch but could Dumbledore possibly be RAB?
He says none of the Death Eaters know of the horcruxes so he could be the only one who knows of them. He knew he was a target after the necklace incident and he somehow destroyed the horcrux (locket) before they got back to the school. I know the RAB initial dont even come close to matching but it could be a code or alias or something. He discovered Voldy's secret like it says in the note. Also, in OoP, Dumbledore says there are many things worse than death like in the note it says "I face death in the hope..." like hes not scared or anything. ...

Maybe [b]R[/b]AB was Rosmerta and Dumbledore had her write then note before or when they got back from the cave. Im not sure the rest of her name but i just know [b]R[/b]osmerta. Maybe Dumbledore told her to destroy it and give them the fake.

I say this because i think RAB are not actually someones initals and if they are then i think JKR giving us Regulas A_____ Black would be too obvious and not her style.

There isn't yet, just like we don't technically know that Regulus' middle name begins with an A.

They're saying that she might be using Amelia as a first name even though it was her middle one, and that her real first name began with R.
