I don't think it's POSSIBLE to break the charm. You just can't tell someone where the place is. Wormtail was the secret keeper for Lily and James- Sirius says so in Prisoner of Azkaban, so he could say where Lily and James were without breaking the charm. So, Snape couldn't tell them where the Order HQ was, even if he wanted to.

Or at least, that's always what I assumed.

Yeah, Snape couldn't tell anyone where it was, but since Dumbledore told him he could do damage to the Order himself.

This whole fidelius charm - I'm not sure about it at the moment.

DD was the secret keeper for the order. Only he is allowed to divulge the secret if he chooses to. However wasn't it someone else like Moody who had it written on a piece of paper and showed Harry? Why didn't anything happen to Moody (if it was him - I can't remember)?

If nothing happens to someone else other than the secret keeper if they write it down and show someone, Snape could have easily done this for LV...unless of course DD had written the address down on paper?

There's got to be a reason. Is there a book/reference out there for the spells used? I saw some info about spells on the lexicon website (which is fast becoming a favourite - there's so much info!)

Yeah. Dumbledore wrote it down and gave the slip of paper to Moody to give to Harry.
