Ron to go bad?

After reading all the books again before the new on comes out, you can safely say that ron likes hermonie, and that hermonie likes ron. with this in mind when you read the G.O.F. there is a part in it, in which ron and harry stop being friends, which in my view seemed a bit pointly to be in there, as the story never lead any where, unless its going to lead some where in further books, ( this one maybe the next). any way I think that harry and hermonie will get together, and that would be it for ron, and for there friendship. Look at the evidents, JK Rowling said that the next book will be darker then the next, well what will be darker then lord voldermont rising, ron becoming bad thats for one, plus ron always gets the raw deal everyone always focus on harry and not ron, even rons parents, (this not harrys fault of course) hes got to snap i know i would. Maybe im wrong about ron going bad, who knows until june 21, but one thing is for sure, if harry and hermonie get together thats it for harry and rons friendship and that is a dead cert. lets just hope that ron and hermonie get together and that my worries are for nothing. I HOPE SO AS RON IS MY FAVIORITE CHARICTER

It would make a cool plot twist as well... He IS stubborn, and when he was outcast from harry, he went to Fred And George... what would happen if he was so disturbed of no one appreciating his powers, he went to the Dark lord, to gain more, and proove he is better than everyone else?

never really thought of Ron going bad, but who knows? how bad could he go? to the point of almost killing someone? maybe he kills of his parents, because of the fact that they like his brothers so much. o well. another day we will know.

Boycey, the idea is pretty good; but there are several threats that either talk about Ron joining the dark side, and also about the love life between them.

Good point, Boycey. It's hard to know how much or what it would take to "push someone over the edge" but the books certainly suggest a building need to "prove himself" as well as some growing resentment towards Harry and his fame. Ron, in the first book, saw himself as quite the 'stand out', which, since the Mirror of Erised shows your deepest desires, may come back to haunt him later on. At the end of the 4th book, Dumbledore says that the choice between what is right and what is easy will be something they will each have to face. Together they stand, divided they fall was something else Dumbledore pointed out. I really don't want to see Ron 'go bad', but perhaps he'll feel angry and cheated and betrayed and contemplate it, only to come back for the 'good side' stronger and more dedicated than before. I'd like to see Ron a hero because he was brave (rather than wanted the attention or fame) by the end of the books.

It is a possibilty and I've not completely dismissed it, but it would be almost commonplace, the whole 'sidekick betrayig the hero' thing. I think that even though Ron gets frustrated with the fact that Harry overshadows him, he still deeply respects him. Ron has come off as such a loyal and genuine character, that I just don't see betraying Harry as something he would do.

I'm sure that problems about Ron being jealous of Harry's fame won't show again, they are over that already.
The only possibility of Ron being angry with Harry, I think, is taht they fall in love for the same girl, but even that wouldn't be enough to make Ron be tempted by the dark side.

J.K. already stated in a press conference that Harry and Hermione will never date, they have a strictly platonic relationship but that she will date someone else that is close. Gee I wonder who it could be. Ron wouldn't go bad thats just to unheard of for me. Could you imaginetrying to go bad with two family members that work for the ministry of magic, a curse breaker, a dragon trainer, to pranksters and Ginny Weasley who isn't afraid to let her opinion be known. Not to mention his mother "putting bars on his windows", lol.

I totally agree that he will snap! It's just too much for him that Harry always gets everything! And that even his parents give Harry alot of attention is a very good point! I think that he'll realise the error of his ways and come back to the light... but I definately think that he'll go evil for a while!!!

i kinda reckon that ron will snap, but it wont last long at all!
