The One Who Really Killed Cedric Diggory!

Postby Diamond Angel » Wednesday 2 July 2003 4:49:26am

I don't know if there's been a topic like this one, as I haven't been here in the longest time, but I was just slightly curious about this one thing.

Voldemort didn't really kill Cedric.

Dumbledore claims this at the end of book four, but I've noticed that Voldemort only made orders. I can't remember directly, but didn't they say something about the sinister high voice saying, "Kill the spare" and then Wormtail saying "Avada Kedavra"? If that's true, then poor Cedric's death is even more undignified ... getting killed by a stupid little rodent like Pettigrew.

but it was on Voldemort's orders and with Voldemorts wand

Pettigrew is a death eater so Cedric died because of Voldemort....i dont think Voldemort does much of the work like killing, he just sends out his death eaters to do it all for him in usual lazy evil bad guy style

yeah, i think what DD meant when he said that voldemort killed cedricc was that it was on Ced's orders. wormtail wouldn't have killed Cedric if it hadn't been on voldemorts orders.

yes, i agree, though voldemort did not do the deed, he had it done, which in essence makes him guilty of it, kinda like the mob

Maybe he's not as guilty of this one as he couldn't do it himself at the time?

nah, he did it because he had control over wormtail, wormtail was afraid to do anything else, it's like using the imperius curse to have someone use the avanda kedavra, wormtail had no choice really

I still don't understand why Pettigrew didn't use his own wand?

Voldemort did tell Wormtail to kill the spare :x , and it was with Voldemort's wand, so it's kinda like An adult telling a child to do something wrong--who's the responsible one? The adult.

Also, what would people think if Dumbledore announced at the end of Harry's fourth year that "Cedric Diggory was murdered by Peter Petigrew" Everyone thought that he was dead, so what sense would that make? :???:

What? and you think the MOM magic would deny it and do a cover up? Surely not :D .

I'll give you the responsibility thing, I just wanted an interesting debate about it, but STILL, why didn't Pettigrew use his wand?

uhhhhhhh, he didn't have it, it's hard to keep your wand on you when you spend 12 years as a rat

Yeah, I saw someone post that somewhere else too, but how then do you explain that Professor McGonagall is able to transform into different things, yet always has her wand with her? Is transfiguration that different form Animaging? She has to have her wand with her as a cat, because after she has transfigurated into herself on the wall opposite nr 4 privet drive, in PS, she then turns into a cat again! : )

Maybe Animaging is indeed really different, I have no idea !

McGonagall IS an animagus...she doesn't transfigure into the cat, that's her animagi form. But I like your theory 12321 except for the fact that he's had all of GoF to get a new wand, and surely he needs one to be of any use to Voldermort.

I suppose he can't just walk into Ollivanders and get a new one when he's not even supposed to be alive. I'll go along with that.

Okay, so she is an animagus. She transforms into a cat, then transforms into herself again, and I can only guess, but it's a very likely guess, she still has her wand then. Then it's odd that Peter has lost his.
