Where's Krum?

Postby Athena Appleton » Tuesday 27 January 2004 8:06:59pm

Any speculations on what Krum is up to these days? He seemed to be properly ashamed of his former headmaster, and we know that we need to keep in touch with foreign wizards with the Wizard's War coming up... Is he still playing Quidditch (a Tornados transfer?)

Maybe he'll come back in book 6! he was mentioned in book 5 wasn't he? I'm pretty sure it was, Hermione still keeps in touch with him! so maybe he'll come back in the series!!
I quite liked Krum, i thought he was quite funny!!

I don't think he was nearly as inept as you're making him out to be, though. After all, the goblet did choose him because he was the best of his school...

i'm just being mean and wicked!! i don't mean to be *slaps my hand* Bad Fang!!

I'm surprised we didn't hear much of Durmstrang in book 5, i mean it was meant to specialise rather heavily in the dark arts wasn't it?

How did Krum or Fluer pass the NEWTS or equivalents (depending on what each school tested) when those entering the Triwizard tournament were exempt from and of year exams?

It seems a bit unfair that they leave school with 5 Outstanding NEWTs having not sat any, or conversely gone through an additional 2 years of schooling after OWLs to not get their NEWTs. That would kinda leave them stuck for a career (outside of quidditch).

we also don't really know what the other schools were doing. apparently, the other students from the visiting schools stuck around, and they would have had to have classes and tests and stuff of their own...

I think that being "exempt" from exams means exempt from "normal" exams... the ones the regular teachers draw up. it doesn't seem right to me that they would be exempt from all exams... dunno...

They didn't share common rooms- Durmstrang students hung out on their boat and Beuxbatons students were on their carriage. They did share tables when eating though.

I don't know where Krum went. Perhaps we will find out in 6 or 7. He must reappear, otherwise why bother to mention him in OotP. Same goes for Fluer.

Maybe Ron will try to hex Krum....
