What if Harry had shaken Draco's hand instead of refusing to? They'd be friends then, right? But would Harry have ended up in Slytherin then? What about Snape? Would he like Harry, being that he was friends with Draco and in Slytherin? This has been bugginh me for a while. What if? What are your views on this?

Oh, good question. The fact that Harry and Draco are friends would probably not convince Snape to like Harry because of his dad. Not really sure. I maen, if Harry was meant for Slytherin, maybe his dad was too. Okay, my head hurts now.

but its the powers voldemort transfered when he did the curse that give harry the slytherin qualities...cos voldemort was a slytherin so harry being meant to be in slytherin will have nothing to do with what house his dad was meant to be in will it....

yeah thats true. Would he still fight Voldemort though?? The facts remains that VOldemort killed his parents but most people in Slytherin support him so....

I don't know . . . I think that if Harry had shaken Draco's hand on the train, he wuoldn't have been Harry . . . he would have been someone entirely different, and the books would have taken a drastic turn.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Harry were actually evil?

Yes, it is more of a Theories topic so it has now been moved to the theories forum.

I've thought a couple of times that Harry can be a bit blunt (for example in Professor Trelawney's class) but that is only very rarely and when he's in a situation that he's just not comfortable with. I don't think he'll turn out evil, but I've a horrible theory that there may be a significant dark aspect to him that he doesn't know about yet.

Well, of course he has to have a dark side- didn't some of Voldemort's powers transfer to him when he got his scar? For instance, he's a parslemouth, and he has the brother-wand to Voldemort's. I'm sure he's capable of doing evil. He has a very great potential for either side, I think, which is quite frightening.

but still, if Draco and Harry had shook hands, he would still've been friends with Ron AND he wouldn've went into Gryffindor cuz like Kim said, Voldy's qualitys had been transferred, so I think the sorting Hat would've still put him in Gryffindor!!!

Well, they become friends in the 6th book, BUT it doesn't work out(you will se why in time)at least in the version on my PC.

I think if Harry had shaken hands with ol' Draco, Harry woulda seen in time that Slytherin wasn't for him.
