What if they hadn't fallen out with hermione in book 1?

What if they hadnt made fun at hermione after that charms lesson, when she did the levitation spell? She would probably not have run off to the toilets, and they would not have saved her life, which means maybe they wouldnt be friends. Strange when u consider the consequences of ure actions...

Mind u even if they hadn't become friends then, i think that there was still quite a good chance of it happening at some point as they are in the house

I'm not sure... i think something big had to happen to make Hermione loosen up about school rules

yeah, maybe. and i guess that it could have effected their working out of who was trying to steal the philosphers stone etc if they hadn't been friends with Hermione.
And even if they had worked out what was happening if it was just Ron and Harry that had gone throught the trap door then they would have died at the start when they got trapped in the plant (cant remember the name)

That's exactly what I was thinking yesterday! The name of the plant is devils snare btw
