*takes a look at the key in liquid ice's hand*

That's strange, . . . I know every key to every vault in use . . . this one doesn't look familiar . . .

Do you mind if I take this to my office to investigate it further?

*sends an owl ahead to Gringott's to have the keymaker and vault keeper meet in her office*

ooh! a vault key! Good find!
now who will leave a vault key lying around? hmm..

maybe it was stolen from its owner in the first place and used by the thieves to rob the vault? hmm...

it all depends on tiggirl's investigations now
* waits anxiously *

Liquid Ice, maybe we should use your truth potion on DM now, waddu you think?

I have my vault key here and my wand so I couldn`t have done it. Groo face it, it wasn`t me although liquid-ice seems to know a bit too much about all this doesn`t she. Liquid ice I accuse you of making a mirror image and sending it into Florean Fortescues so you would have an alliby for robbing gringotts. And as you know if you aren`t an incompetent witch you can only have one mirror image (a mirror image does the exact same as you would do things). And since you took my mirror image in the ice-cream shop and saw my real body in there as well the evidence just tells you I was nowhere near gringotts after I opened my account and deposited 1002G. LIQUID ICE PUT AN INVISIBILITY CLOAK ON HER DOUBLE AND I KNOW THIS BECAUSE MY LEFT EYE SEES THROUGH INVISIBILITY CLOAKS AND I SAW A SHADOWY FIGURE SNEAK INTO THE VAULT SYSTEM WITH AN APPEARANCE VERY LIKE LIQUID-ICES.

*walks toward the commotion looking very confused*

What´s happened?

*Sees the grim faces evryone is wearing and is passed a copy of the Daily Prophet*

OMG!!! Who would something like that?? Just for my defence I can say that I have my wand here, and that I don´t possess a Gringots vault, and, more over, I have never been at the bank.

*returns from her office looking severly perplexed*

I've discovered some very troubling things indeed. First, the key that was found doesn't belong to anyone . . . The vault that key opens is an unused vault in one of the new tunnels we're digging. Just so you understand the strangeness of this key being here, let me explain about vault creation. You see, goblins have their own special magic. When they dig out space for a new vault, the keymaker and vault keeper enter the vault and use their skills to create the key and secure the vault. The key is sealed inside the vault until the time when that vault is assigned an owner. Even if someone was able to get into one of the unassigned vaults they wouldn't be able to get out. And they definitely shouldn't have been able to take the key with them. The keys are bound to its vault and cannot leave gringotts except in the hands of its owner.

This was more than just a random robbery. The thief must know things about the bank that even I don't know . . .

Oh, yeah, I went and looked into vault 3663 B-A, that's where the key belongs, and I found this note . . .

*holds the note out for someone else to read*

I honestly don't know what to make of this situation . . . the goblins are on the verge of a riot and after reading this, it's clear that none of the gold in the vaults is safe.

hmm Ferrus, but as you are around in Diagon Alley, did you notice anything suspicious in the days before or after the robbery. we are all totally perplexed and so any help will do

tiggirl, you say only the keymaker and vaultkeeper can enter an unused vault, so is it a possibility that they are involved?? i know goblins will be faithful but maybe there are a couple of bad ones in them?? i am proposing this crazy idea as i am totally confused[/i]

hmm a note, it says
GiVe Us AlL tHe GoLd Or We WiLl TaKe It FoRceFuLlY
sIgNeD L-q-id I-e
obviously someone with a very small brain an a big ego if they think they could steal from gringotts. Goblins aren`t good with anything but money so it would require someone with good organisational skills to arrange the break-in. Aren`t Aurors well equipped with great organisational skills?

No, I´m sorry but I can´t help you on that one... I´ve had a couple of problems with the floo network, and I haven´t been at Diagon alley on the day of the crime or the previous one...

*takes the note from Dumbledores Master*

Interesting... the note sugests that there is more that one person invloved in the crime, hardly susprising, seeing the complexity of stealing the gold...

Well Im not even interested in money, if I was I would charge for ice creams wouldnt I? As for you claiming to see a shadowy figure creeping into the vault, weve only got your word that it was me, and as you have a criminal record and youre thought to be involved in the crime yourself your not the most reliable witness.

Anyway, how does having your wand and vault key prove it wasnt you? *Digs into pocket* I have my wand and vault key!

The goblins wouldn't steal money from the vaults . . . They have more access to the gold in the wizarding community than anyone, it doesn't make sense for it to be them. Besides, all the goblins of Gringott's are bound by contract to guard and protect the gold there. So none of them could have stolen it, I would have known immediately.

There's definitely more than one person involved. And it seems they know alot about Gringott's and the goblins that work there. They also possess an amazing amount of power to pull this robbery off without getting caught.

Well, a Diagon alley shop-owner might have time (and space) to tunnel into Gingotts, but only a Gringotts employee would have the knowledge to break into the actual vaults... This backs my theory of a conspiracy between two or more people... hmmm... *looks suspiciously at PP and DM*

Thats a brilliant theory Ferrus! someone tunneled their way into the Gringotts vaults. but for the exact location of the vaults, you needed a Gringotts employee or an account holder. since tiggirl vouches for her employees, one accountholder must have been involved.

hey! now here is a totally crazy idea. tiggirl needed some money fast and so she robbed her own bank! (am i crazy or am i just crazy? :) )

Somehow I think it wasnt tiggirl! I reckon it was an account holder, but it would have to be someone who uses the account regulaly or they wouldnt know where it was....

Done get any ideas DM, I havent used my account for ages, you can give me a truth potion if you want it proved, I set up my account when the bank opened and I havnt used it since.
