XBOX 360 or PS3

Well, this forum doesn't seem so active. So I'm making a new debate. This one is over which is better, the XBOX 360, or the Playstation 3. The reason why the wii is not part of this debate is because it is a completely different console, and should thus be judged against the Nintendo DS. But, that's not what this debate is about. It's about PS3 vs. XBOX 360.

I, myself am for the Playstation 3. To begin, I'd like to first speak of the Hardware, itself. Is there anybody who would like to represent the XBOX 360 before I begin?

I haven't played either system, as I am an avid Wii fan.

I don't really think the Wii should be compared with the DS. The Wii is a console and the DS is a hand held. Two completely different types of gaming machines. The DS is categorized with the 360 & the PS3. Despite this, I agree that the Wii is very different from the other 2 consoles. No other console uses anything like the Wiimote. The same can be said of the DS, since no other hand held has 2 screens. This is why I love Nintendo. They come up with very unique gaming systems.

Plus, the Wii is significantly cheaper than both the 360 & the PS3. As is the DS much cheaper than the PSP.

ummm...... i've never played an xbox 360 or a playstation 3 (i wouldn't be able to tell them apart if it weren't for the label), so im neutral on that account...... but i do agree that the DS cannot be compared with the wii.

Wow, a real answer. Somebody sticking up for the 360, now I'm able to do a real good debate. Of course, I currently don't have the time, and thus, I'll begin posting later.

But thanks for actually choosing one of them, even if it is the XBOX 360.

Well I don't have either sorry but Xbox 360 is the worst because people sit there online on MSN with "Xbox3: watching a movie" or some game in their status and you can't talk to them all night even though it says they are there...sucks, naughty teasing Xbox...nasty thing.

To begin, let's talk about the cooling system of both consoles. From what I've seen, the PS3 runs a much better cooling system, the fan being very quiet, barely audible unless you're absolutely pushing the system, but the PS3 does not overheat (that is, of course, unless you block the fans). I have yet to hear one story about an overheating PS3, and if for some reason your regular fan does not work, you can buy an external fan for it.

Now, as for the XBOX360, the fan is loud, and from how many overheating stories I've heard about it, it doesn't work very well. Some people I've met have been forced to buy an external fan, which isn't very cost-effective for the consumer.

I apologize for the double post, but , my PS3 died. We're getting it repaired by Sony, but I must correct my original statement. Of course, after looking it up, the problem is generally unheard of, maybe one out of every couple thousand people might experience it. In any case, most of the time, the user is able to fix it. We looked it up, and no matter what we did, would not live. So Sony's fixing it. Still, it's better than the Red Ring of Death (1 out of every 4 XBOX360s, yikes.)
