New Book

Postby GodrictheGriffon » Tuesday 22 January 2008 11:04:22pm

I'm starting to think that we should probably have a new book. Has anyone read anything good lately?

Well I'm currently trying to read Northern Lights by Philip Pullman a.k.a The Golden Compass if you have been to the cinema lately. Anyone fancy joining me in that one?

I've wanted to read that. I just have to wait until the library has it. Of course, I'd be reading the US version 'The Golden Compass'.

I'm also going to be reading a bunch of text books now. Anyone care to join me? How does 'Give Me Liberty' about US history sound?

The book I nominate and have read is The Key To Rondo, Emily Rodda, even though I dislike Deltora quest she has done a splendid with this book.

Otherwise I would be keen on reading The Northern Lights, because I loved the Golden Compass Movie !

Ooooh! How about Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? I hear that that's good.
Philip Pullman sounds good. I love his book Clockwork and yet hate it all at the same time.

How about "Blue Falcon", written by me? jk. I nominate "With the Old Breed" by E.G. Sledge (I think those are his first initials, I might be wrong though).

Apparently the Golden compass is part of a larger series, one of which can be purchased as a very large book, much like the Narnia Chronicles.

i would very much like to read the golden compass, after watching the movie, I must know more! Plus I read only part of the story in a short book I got out of a cereal box, and when I saw the movie I was all like "That's so not how it goes in the book!!"

And yes, to catch your hint, (or at least to be inspired by what u said) I think we should read the SS or PS. The thing is, I leant it someone else and won't get it back til next week! ARg.. so I need someone else to post a discussion topic for Chapter 8?
