Paul, or anyone who knows what is wrong. Everytime I try to change my profile, like my avatar or update my email when i click submit it always says 'Page Cannot Be Displayed" I dont know waht could be wrong. I try almost everyday and it does the same thing. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Is there something wrong with my computer? Becouse everyime I go on anyforum....'page cannot be displayed' when i try to either post, change my profile, or both! This is getting frustrating! :x And also as soon as this problem is solved, Paul you can delete this post and this subject. I dont want to take up space.

That message sounds like some kind of connection problem - possibly caused by some misconfiguration in your computer.

The following pages may help:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... bContent=1

and
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... bContent=1

Unfortunately they are pretty complicated. As a general guideline, beware of many of the peer to peer programs - they are very dodgy, and many shopping programs can do nasty things to your PC, mainly affecting Internet Explorer. Also pop-up stoppers can do unwanted adjustments to your PC.

If you've got an alternative browser it may be worthwhile trying something other than Internet Explorer (and if it works, it'll be easier than all the stuff mentioned on the pages above). If you haven't got an alternative browser, I'd very much recommend Opera, which has some extremely useful features (and you can configure to stop pop-ups without any of the adverse effects of many pop-up stopper programs). You can get opera at www.opera.com

Also, the latest Netscape is very nice, and can be downloaded from http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp

Hope this helps and good luck!

Which version was that, Sonkem? I think the latest version 7.1 is a huge improvment over previous versions. There's also Mozilla at www.mozilla.org if you want something based on the same underlying technology as Netscape but with some slight differences. Oooh, just noticed that Mozilla has released a new version (1.4)...off to do some dowloading later. :)

A Microsoft person has announced in an interview that Microsoft will no longer be creating new stand-alone versions of Internet Explorer by the way. Their browsers in the future (from the next operating system, which is currently codenamed Longhorn, to be released in 2005, possiby under a different eventual final name) are going to be an inbuilt feature in the Windows Operating system. According to Microsoft, IE6 SP1 is the final standalone installation.

If you're using Internet Explorer, and want to upgrade to a new Microsoft browser version, it's therefore expected that you won't be able to upgrade your Microsoft browser unless you buy a newer version of Windows.

Well, to hear that about IE, I'm really glad I use Opera!
