Happy to announce that the raining snails are available to be used on the board as smilies 
. There are three speeds of falling, and the code for each is:
They were created by drawing the snail using MGI photosuite, then creating 11 images, one for each stage of falling. To get the snail to move, the 11 images for each snail were combined together using Ulead GIF animator. I tried to get them on a clear background, but had a bit of trouble with that (they ended up overlapping no matter what I tried) so I had to put them on the white background.
I hadn't thought about the Princess Leia look of their shells but I'm a Star Wars fan, so I guess it must be the Force guiding me to make them look like that.
