Yes I knew Smith was more common but I mistakenly said my surname was 2nd, not so in the US.
My middle name is not Evan...but it does contain the first and last letters of that name in that order! And when my middle name is used as a first name it is inevitably shortened like, for example, Anthony to Tony...but the shortened version of my middle name contains the letter V. (also you will have seen it on this page in it's shortened form...remember it's common!
