Okies, while I agree that no one should write things like who dies in the titles of threads, sometime's there are new things, which is what you want to discuss in the thread, what do you call the thread then?

I do think though, that people who really dont' want to be spoiled by things like the names of threads, would click on the main parts to get to the new posts instead of the 'show all posts since I last logged in' bit, that way you know exactly what you are getting in to.

I know it's easier to click that part, but still! I have always just gone into each section, theories, rumours etc, individually and seen what was new there like that. That way, you know what you are getting, and no one would accidentially click on things that will tell them stuff about what happend in OOTP, provided they stay out of the OOTP section up the top.

Well anyways, that's what I did before I got the book, and nothing was ruined for me. :D

I think you just need to be a bit creative in how you name the threads in The Order of The Phoenix section. Taking a scene from book 3 as an example, if you were discussing the part where a certain small furry creature turns out being Peter Pettigrew, you could call the title something like Hidden identity, or as another example, if you were talking about the Aragog scene in book 2, you could call it forest creatures or something.

I'm hoping that the notices at the top of the forum index page will save anyone from accidentally reading any spolier thread titles but the title guideline is a bit of added protection. Personally I usually do the same as you, Holly, clicking on individual forums, then viewing the threads from there - at the moment that's the only way I'd recommend anyone to use the forum if they want to be as safe as possible from spoilers. :)

Well, that's about it... and after all, if we are naming them ambigious things like "the death", well, there are already topics in theories section called 'the death in book 5" and stuff like that... :(

I dont' want to ruin things for anyone, but the truth of the matter is, we can take all the safety precautions that we like, but if you want to be certain about not going into spoilers fromthat section, just dont' go into that section... :D

Unless of course someone is a jerk and posts somewhere else, but we would get rid of it asap if that was to happen!!! ;)

Oh man! :o I've started some new threads, and I hope they aren't dead giveaways. *goes to check the threads* Any way I can edit the titles of the threads, as a mod, if I see they need editing? I got so into posting about the new book, I plum forgot, and I'm REALLY sorry, especially considering how upset I was about spoilers!! :o

I don't know if you are a mod on one of the new forums yet Lizzie (just ahvent' gotten around to looking) but if so, then you can change the titles, as it's limited to the forum sections that you moderate!
