I have however heard of clockwork orange
is it the same?

Alice I: No, they're not the same... A Clockwork Orange was written by Anthony Burgess, and is DEFINITELY not a book for younger readers. For more info on each book (each link goes to Amazon.com):

I am familiar with A Clockwork Orange and I know it is not a children's book.
I did not however know what Clockwork was so I had no way of knowing that it is a children's piece.
Thanks for clearing that up.
