I'm reading Alias Grace by Maragaret Atwood and The Two Towers (finally) it's taken me ages to actually get round to reading the LOTR's books!

I always feel kind of ashamed to admit that I just can't get into and really enjoy the LOTR books... I can respect their greatness, but I just don't like them personally. Same with the movies. I've seen all three of them, but my husband is always teasing me because I only sit through them hoping to see Merry and Pippin again because I think Billy Boyd is a hottie.

i just finished reading the second book of philip pullmans dark materials series. i'm just looking for the third at the moment, since my library doesnt have a copy. i like it, its a fiction about another world where everyone has these animals, called daemons, (although there actually good) these daemons are the peoples souls, hard to understand, harder to explain. but if your into those kinds of stories, these are a good read. the first one is called 'Northern Lights' and the second is 'the subtle knife' but i dont know what the third is called.
worth having a look if you get the chance.

you guys are great...what a reading list I have compiled with all of your recs! I just got my Amazon order yesterday and I am almost halfway through Mrs Dalloway.

After peeking into The Jane Austen Book Club I can hardly wait to read that one...but the book begins with the characters reading Emma, which I haven't read myself so I think I will need to check that out from the library.

I knew I could count on all of you for some great reads. Actually I posted this on one of my other favorite forums and got a lot of great recs from them as well.

Hey i read the books two years ago, they are really great...they are some of my favourite books...

I´m just reading 1984 by goerge orwell but i don´t like it much...the torture and the athmosphere bring me down a bit, it´s really depressing.

At the moment I'm reading The Probable Future by Alice Hoffman. It's quite good so far. I'm also reading Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen which is excellent. I loved the movie so I thought I'd try reading the book.

The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy is definitely the book I'm gonna read next. That means as soon as I finish "the name of the rose" by Umberto Eco.

I've read Harry Potter in German and English, maybe next, I'm gonna try French

Right now I am in to reading Joan Lowery Nixon's books. They're mystery/horror. I love horror books because i read them right before I go to bed and I get so scared I can't sleep... If anyone has any suggestions for mystery or horror type books, help me find some, because I am almost done with all of the Joan Lowery Nixon books.
