I'm not too keen on dogs... although it isn't a phobia. I have to meet some every time I walk to college :o

I don't quite have a phobia.
But I mostly fear for the others.

I really loved that phobia list... There is even a name for people afraid of Bogeymen... hehe!!

My biggest fear is heights

Here's some irony. The fear of long words is named a long word, i can't remember it know, but it's huge.

Fear of Words, long- Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia or Sesquipedalophobia

I used to be severely arachnophobic but I am not anymore.
I live in the woods and well there are spiders here.
Also I have two young girls and I was very worried about transferring my fears into them. That is quite possible you know.
So when I was confronted with a spider around the kids I pretended to stay calm and after a while (I'm talking years) it became a self-fulfilling prophecy, and I lost the phobia.

I can't stand bugs, if its got six legs I don't like it, if it's got six legs and wings I really don't like it, and if it's got six legs wings and a stinger you can just forget it.
I'm no so bad with heights as such, just ladders when I don't have anything to hold onto, like when you're in the middle of the room putting up decorations.
And here's a wierd one, I've got a motorbike and I'm kinda scared of it :-? Think I got it to get over the fear. You know how some people can't see how planes can stay up in the air, well, although I understand mechanically how a bike stays up, I can't see how they do :-?
Just call me strange :D

My fear has a scary name... I don't want to tell, perhapse she is looking .
I have a school fear. Marks and everything, the tests you have to make. I really want to hang out all the time, just sitting and reading... posting on forums. But it's almost summer, and than I can do all that! Yeah!
And another fear: death. I often dream of the death from a friend... not so nice :)

:D That's interesting. You mean that you imagine something you fear under your bed? Sometimes I fear my own imagination too especially when I'm alone at home (kind of like Anne of Green Gables imagining scary things in forest). There's a man with a bloodied axe behind the staircase doors...

I'm terrified of spiders  I cant even open a book with a picture of a spider in it, or watch spiders on TV.
I'm pretty scared of needles too, i hate getting vacinations , but strangley enough i've had my ears pierced 6 times and that doesnt bother me at all!
Oh yeah and i'm scared of the dark! sounds really lame i know, but its not the dark itself but the thought of what might be in the dark, u know if u walk down a dark walkway at night i have to run through it, or if i'm walking round my house at night then i have to turn all the lights on on the way!

Same here Violet, I do that as well. When I'm alone all night I sometimes even lock my bedroom door.
And as a kid I couldn't look at spider pictures too, but I got over this. Dunno how, though. :???:

Tsk, tsk...it is always important to have a roll of newspaper in your room so you will be prepared for the next invasion of creepy crawlers. And remember to change the roll once you're done using the current one.

I don't mind spiders. Just squash them.

I have a kind of phobia of squashing bugs or spiders - i hate it! i'd rather scare them away, or put them in a jar or catch them in a tissue and then put them outside than squash them.

It usually works against me though, as last week or maybe it was a couple of weeks ago (can't remember), mum brought around her old fridge for my sister and i because our fridge had stopped working. When we moved the old fridge out, there was a spider underneath, and I begged mum not to squash it. Next morning, I get out of the shower and wrap the towel around me, because it's FREEZING, when I feel something crawling on my neck. I squealed and brushed whatever off my neck and looked down and there's the spider from last night. AGH!!!!!!!!!!!! it was crawling on my neck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might have been bitten, i don't know, because it's hard to tell which spiders are venemous since we have so many. I've been bitten twice by spiders (not counting that one since i don't know for sure - i did have a twinge but mighta just been my imagination) so i'm kind of a bit paranoid about them now.

That was a horrible experience :(
