So, the story behind my name is really long, but the abridged version is that my friend calls me Airconditioner as a joke and Im gonna marry Harry Potter, so, naturally my name is Airconditioner Potter.

Well, you already seem to know that Eos is the Greek goddess of the dawn :D That's why I like to blush 8-) She has quite a sad story and is more or less always unhappily in love or others make it difficult for her BUT that's not the reasson why I chose the name. The point ist, that the sun rises every day - even if you can't see it! And that's a VERY good thing! :D

Is Eos related to Helios? Like I said, not to familiar with the entire Greek mythology...I know mostly about the original Olympians and the Titans...I just love how all the mythology is really similar, ya know...the almagamation of it all :-D

Eos is Helios' sister and her job is it to prepar his way. Well, Helios is the sun, better said he is the one who "drives" the sun-carriage. So Eos blushes if Helios is coming his way 8-)

Well, my username's german - as I am from Austria - and means "squirrel catapult". Uhm, I just wanted a german username and then the squirrel came to my mind. I hope the animal protectionists won't be too angry with me for catapulting squirrels for I actually like the little gnawers

Postby Emma'I'm a real witch' » Tuesday 9 March 2004 12:09:56am

Well not being really original, my real name is Emma, but the 'real witch' bit came from going to see a clairvoyant/psychic a year ago and she really freaked me out cos when I sat down she just looked at me and said 'You're one of us, aren't you?' So all my friends thought this was really funny and started calling me a real witch. And I thought it was appropriate for a magical forum.

I chose the username Galateia, because I've always liked the tales of Ancient Greece and this one was the most beautiful one. I don't know anything about Galateia, who she was or was she a god or human. It just sounds beautiful. I didn't want to took a name that everyone knows for example Athene, Afrodite, Artemis. In Finnish forums I'm always nymfi [nymph in English], but since you're not finnish... And nymph sounds stupid.

Celeone means Lady of the Water. My element is water, so it isn't strange. It is strange that I had the name allready before I was looking for the meaning.

Lady of the Water - wow. Celeone, that should be ur "title" once u reach 100 posts

I chose my name after a cutest main character from a very cool game I had. She was this spoiled spunky princess who wanted to take over the world and make her twin sister wash bathrooms for the rest of her life. I loooved that game!!! .......I'm in Slytherin by the way

Postby Seraphine » Tuesday 16 March 2004 9:35:37pm

Seraphine is the name I'd like to be given on the confirmation. My cathechist told me to look for some other patron saint(which existed, 'cause Seraphines are angels of love, light and fire). But he also told me that if I insist on it, he'll give me that name. So I will. I'm an idealist, I'd rather be protected by something flawless...
