Okies, I know that this is really sad, but my sister bought that stupid Justin Timberlake CD, and though the song is bad, teh end of the first song is damn hillarious! *he sounds so much like a girl!!!*

It goes...

"I'm gunna sing something, and I want the guys to sing it with me, they go...
'It feels like something's heating up, cant I leave with you?'
Then the ladies go...
'I dont' know what I'm thinking bout, but I'm leaving with you!'
*repeated multpile times*
Gentlemen, Good-Night...
Ladies, Good-Morning! "

You really just have to hear it, it's DAMN funny as!

What a cool thread, and I do promise to put in my share of cheesy love lyrics, as well as lyrics that'll make you laugh!

However, going with what I wrote in St. Mungo's about myself, I think I'll put down some lyrics that somewhat describe how I feel recently, as well as how I've felt, particularly, with some of the guys I dated in the past when we broke up (add the romantic element for the exes at the time, take it away from the fair-weather friends I've encountered too often):

"Taken In" by Mike and the Mechanics (an excerpt)

Taken in, taken in again
Wrapped around the finger of some fair-weather friend
Caught up in the promises, left out in the end
No pride, taken for a ride
You say I'm the only one when I look in your eyes
I want to believe you but you know how to lie

And if you say you understand I don't believe it
And when you reach out for my hand I don't believe it
And if you say you take the blame I don't believe it
And if say that nothing's changed I don't believe it, don't believe it

That about says it all . . . not to be depressing, just feeling reflective! I find it, actually, a good reminder of what and why I'm glad to have these kinds of people out of my life. :) Blaise Zabini, perhaps you can relate! :D

Got another Peal Jam one... *shocker there*

"even flow, though arrive like butterflies,
he don't know, so he chases them away
some day yet, he'll begun his life again"

This song is *not* a nice song, but seeing as my boyfriend sings it to me to make me laugh, and he's a 'straight arrow' and I'm a 'straight arrow', I can really find the humour in it! By that I mean, I don't endorse what the song says (though, to each their own :-) ), but something about it just cracks me up.

"Because I Got High" by Afroman (excerpt)

I was gonna clean my room until I got high.
I was gonna get up and find the broom, but then I got high.
My room is still messed up, and I know why.
(Why man?)
'Cuz I got high, because I got high, because I got high.

I don't know *what* it is about that song--maybe it's how my boyfriend sings it--but it cracks me up everything . . . it's just so off the wall! Ok, I have a fit of the giggles again . . . tee-hee-hee!

All My Love
-Led Zeppelin
Should I fall out of love, my fire in the light
To chase a feather in the wind
Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight
There moves a thread that has no end.
For many hours and days that pass ever soon
the tides have caused the flame to dim
At last the arm is straight, the hand to the loom
Is this to end or just begin?

I'm sorry Lizzie, but I just cannot hack that song anymore... Some of my bum uni friends would play it like baout 500 billion times a day while they were, ironically enough, getting high...

Anyways, here's yet another Pearl Jam... not very posative, but awesome wounding none the less...

"Dont' see some things as half empty,
See them half full of s**t"

-1/2 Full

Kinda sad song!!! ;)

I've actually never heard that song before in my life, Holly :D . . . it just makes me laugh when my boyfriend sings little parts of it to be silly (maybe it's *how* he sings it! ). I'm not a huge fan of rap (which I'm presuming this is) . . . I can't really explain it, I just find the song ridiculous.

It is a funny song Lizzie, the first time, and even the second time, but I was dating a guy who was good friends with these people who played it allt eh time, and they would just put it on repeat...
I swear, I've heard it easliy about 500 times, no joke, and after that many, it's not funny anymore, just annoying!

The Pearl Jam song is off their newest album, Riot Act... it's a good cd, more on the mellow side of PJ than others!

*Note, Holly is a HUGE PJ fan!!! ;) *

LOL! I can't think of *any* song that wouldn't become irritating after that many playings!

I know 'Pearl Jam' well . . . great band. :D My younger brother was (and still is) a big fan of them as a teenager, as well as Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, and many others. What's *really* funny is that he got our mother hooked on these bands  . . . to this day, if she hears Smashing Pumpkins on the radio, she'll turn it up and say, "Those are my Pumpkins." hehehehe

Peral Jam is really great; I'm nt a great fan but recognise they are very talented. The Pumpinks are also very good, The Everlasting Gaze is great.

" I wanna heal, I wanna fell
Like I'm close to something real
I wanna find something I wanted all along
Somewhere I belong"

Well you can tell I'm a huge fan of LP.

Yeha, that song rocks! I love Smashing Pumpkins too!

"We all want to hold in the everlasting gaze,
Enchanted in the rapture of a sentamental sway,
But underneath the wheels like the skulls of every cog,
The fickle facination of an evelasting God,
YOU KNOW I'M NOT DEAD!"

hmmm...i love Damien Rice at the moment and i love the lyrics

'why'd you sing allaluia if it means nothing to ya?' because it reminds me of a friend who came to church with me...and told me he felt God coming into his life, when he didnt...and i found that out from two of his mates, (one my prat of an Ex-b/f) so there it is...
and...
'cold, cold water, surrounds me now, and all i've got is your hand because its just a gorgeous song...
oh..there are so many others too but thats the c.d i'm listening to at the moment...

Someone mentioned "My Immortal" by Evanescence...that's such a great song, my favourite at the moment...just wanted to say that :) :) :)

Other great one:
Drops of Jupiter by Train

Tell me
Did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights are faded?
And that heaven is overrated?
Tell me
Did you fall for a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar?
And did you miss me while you where looking for yourself out there??
