Homecoming

Postby AccioNiffler » Sunday 14 September 2003 2:32:00am

I just had to post this because I think it is so great! The theme for my school's homecoming is "Fantasy." When I first heard this I thought it was kinda weak and pretty weak. But the cubcatagories assigned to each group changed my mind!

Seniors: Pirates of the Caribbean (yay! I get to dress up like a pirate on spirit day!)
Juniors: Harry Potter (my sister, who is a HP obsessed freshman, was very angry that her class wasn't Harry Potter, what was it she said? "none of those juniors will every understand Harry Potter the way that I do! My class deserves Harry Potter!" )
Sophmores:Hmmm, I cant remember what sophmores are... I'm sure that it must not be anything that great then!
Freshmen: Lost in Space

So now I'm all excited for the spirit week the first week of October! What are all of your schools doing for homecoming?

Man, we get crappy themes like "hawaiin" Woo hoo....O_O

But that sounds awesome...I wish schools around here had some creativity stored somewhere in a bottle...on a back shelf somewhere...ANYWHERE

I do go to dances because, heck, I get to be with my friends, and party afterwards....Oh, and wear stilletos...*woo hoo!! )

our school's theme for homecoming is board games  float building is always at my best friend's house so i don't really ming goin over there and workin on the float. i personally like snowcoming better than homecoming, but that's just me. does anyone else have snowcoming? it's like the winter/basketball version of homecoming.

Ok, my school has a homecoming and it is supposed to be for football---traditionally--but this is the 21st century so my school is working on having all the fall activities be included! Homecoming usually sucks at my school, but now since my class is now the senior class, we get to organize it and it is actually shaping up. We are working on a Spirit Day which is more than dressing up, but a whole day of activities...like Powder Puff Football, Guy Volleyball, Co-ed Soccer, Karaoke, Playstation Tourney, a talent show, inner class contests, dress up contests, Mr. Seymour & Lady Thunder mascot contests...its gonna be pretty cool...we don't have a parade because generations of the past have really messed up during those so we don't get one anymore, but we do have a Homecoming Football Game (which we haven't won in 8 years, but since our team is 3-0 this year, perhaps we will win!!!!) and a Homecoming Dance. Usually our dance stinks because all they play is that recycled techno trash (not even good techno) but it is always fun to dress up and get together with friends!

ps...i think this is my 1000 post, not sure though

wow, you get all those activities?? All we get is powder puff and spirit week competitions! I guess that all dances get horibble music, because my schools (i go to more than one homecomming) only play really ghetto hipip music, but its all sensored, and it confuses me a l;ot because I like in a town with farms and tractors and stuff, lol.

also, congratulations on your 1000th post! :jump: :double jump: :jump:

Ditto! :D 1000 -- that's a lot!

Anyway, we don't have anything like Homecoming here in Finland. :( But we do have this Olde Dance in I think February. In our high school system we have three years, and the third year ends in February. They have this "study holiday" that lasts til April or something like that when they take the matriculations examinations (similar to A-levels in the UK). So, when the third years leave in Feb the second years have this dance where eveyone dresses up really nicely and we dance ballroom dances because they're now the oldest ones in school. So that's what coming for me in the beginning of next year. Now, all I need to do is catch myself a partner ... :eekie:

yeah, bt this year's isn't going to be fun. i can't bring my girlfriend because she's from another school and our homecoming's are on teh same night! argh...anyway, our theme's are okay. last year's prom was 'Lost In Love', and the juniors that decorated built a 17-foot tall model of the Eiffiel Tower. it was grand.

we have a dance in february, but we call ours 'Hearts'. It's usually on the one saturday without a wrestling meet on it.

Our homecoming consists of football, dancing, and cow tipping... :-? Why me!?!

We do have a parade, but...most of the floats are like hay rides...again, why me... :(

Cow tipping?! Ha! That's great! well, I can see why you would get bored with it, when I lived in VT I know I certainly did! Yeah, my school's football team is okay, like half of the time they win and half of the time they dont... but they always lose the HC game, always, like they havent won in like 30 years or something *shakes head in disgust*

we go toilet papering...the whole town is full of white two-ply streamers every homecoming...it's a big deal and that's when it counts to be a "good" kid with a great reputation because then at night after the HC game, all the cops by pass you and attack the kid with the mohawk and piercings (he he he) even though you are the one with the toilet paper in hand...tee hee...
