The Great Hall RPG Forum Discussion

As a holiday present to the forum, I've been working on the RPG and can happily confirm that the Harry Potter RPG area has been fixed and is now fully reopened. :double jump:

RPG Moderators can now approve (or deny) RPG scenario suggestions which any member can put forward, and all members can now create characters for any RPG scenario which has been approved. Similar to the scenarios, characters can be approved or denied by Moderators.

And I must say, well done for the beautiful Merry Christmas in the BaO header.

New scenarios welcome! We get some good ideas from fan-fics actually, so if ever you get a good idea, just spend five minutes filling the page out, and we can have lots of fun :grin: .

I think we should pick this topic out again...just incase there are people who wish to join the RPG.

We really need people in Hogwarts '06. Especially for the Quidditch teams..


JUst a question,
Can you have more than one character in the same RPG, Paul? Phoenix??

I was under the impression that you couldn't.

And would we really want to? It'd just be really.. stupid for us to have more than one character because imagine if we were talking to ourselves.. it'd just be a bit.. off, I think.

I couldn't quite remember whether I had programmed things to allow or disallow anyone having more than one character per RPG, so I just tried setting up 2 characters....You're right Phoenix - I ended up with a message "SORRY, YOU ALREADY HAVE A CHARACTER IN THIS RPG". Sorry Scarlet but I think I probably programed this in because I figured it would get a bit confusing with one person having two personalities in the same story.

Do you think I should open up a separate RPG thread interweaving with Hogwarts '06 (which coincedentally I'm going to change to Hogwarts '06/'07), called:

It would be pretty weird right? I mean the characters are almost the same in the Hogwarts' 06/07 storyline. Heehee and I was wondering if we should keep focusing on the Quidditch part. There's definitely various events happening in a Hogwarts year i.e. Halloween, Easter, or maybe we can create some holiday in wizarding calender like (Harry Potter's Bday! Since he 'was' the hero who defeated Lord Voldemort)

And as for the 2nd character part. Maybe we can describe a 2nd person from a 3rd person view? As in a character not played by forum member, but added in the storyline. Maybe for eg, Slytherin quidditch team captain
I mean obviously we cannot play a quidditch match without input from the slytherin side

Well you can already do that now to some extent.. I suppose that's a decent idea. We could really just start doing that now if we wanted. Only problem is that if it isn't regulated then someone that's sort of doing a little mini job with a character could have the character pulled out form underneath them.
