I would like to open this topic so that we can all talk about films. I welcome people to slag off films or praise them as much as you like it will be good to see different views of films.

The first film i would like to put under the spotlight is.......Pearl harbor (before you say anything thats how the film is spelt, personally i spell it harbour but whatever makes you happy)
I thought it was one of the worst films i have seen for a long time, the only thing that kept me from not watching was the aerial scenes which to be frank were about the only thing i enjoyed. Still some of the aerial scenes were ruined by the tremdously annoying josh harrrrwhatever-hes-called, and the total americanism about it annoyed me(no offence americans)i have a few points to makes.
1)dan aykroyd's character was portraid as having guessed that the japs would strike pearl but in reality(as told by a former us intelligence officer working up to and including pearl harbor)nobody even suspected that the japs would even contonplate striking pearl.
2) i believe the line is "if all americans are like you,god help whoever goes to war with america" how arragant of the scriptwriters to put that in!the whole battle of britian scene is dominated by affleck being praised for his brillance and how cr*p our pilots were, which i resent. About the only thing they did get right was the fact that he was loosing friends quicker than he could get them, displaying the super high casulity rate recieved by the raf during the battle of britian.
3)possibly the crappest storyline ever.two best mates fall in love with the same woman..hmm how many films has that been in before
4)no pilots on dolittles bombing raid to tokyo had any actual combat experience before the day
5)as far as i know (dont hold me to this one) no american pilots scored aerial kills during the attack on pearl
theres quite a lot more but i really cant be bothered to type the rest out.before you call me sad i just have to mention that i dont care because it happens to be an area of interest to me.would anyone else like to add an opinion on it? :-)

Let's see, one of my favorite movies is Ever After. I also love X-men and X-2(awesome movie), Matrix (looking forward to Reloaded), LOTR (both and dying for third), and of course HP.

But other than that, totally awesome movies! I might go see 2 at the cinemas again!

Waiting for Matrix reloaded aswell, but not as much!

And, unlike the rest of the world, I didnt' like the LOTR movies...

papa_lazarou, I don't quite agree that Pearl Harbor was ONE of the worst movies...in my opinion, it was definitely tha worst movie ever and I highly doubt that there can be a worse one!
Apart from that, I agree on every point you mentioned.

I totally love The Truman Show and American Beauty.

Woohoo! 6 more days until the Matrix Reloaded!
Anyway, some of my favourite movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Life is Beautiful, Citizen Kane, Edward Scissorhands, Chocolat, Rabbit-Proof Fence, Monty Python, The Birdcage. Meh, could go one and on but will stop there. Oh, and I watched Now&Then for the millionth time last night. Is such a good Chick-Flicky movie...
Agreed the Pearly Harbour was absolutely horrid. Grr, it messed up so horribly on being historically correct. And Josh Hartnett needs to be punched in the face. A lot.
