k, so it's safe to assume it's not important what position he played if they changed it in the movies... from an interview I saw with J.K. Rowing and the screenwriter, she pretty much stops him from making changes that affect the plotlines...

JK said in an interview that he was a chaser, but it's not mentioned in the books.

In OotP when Harry goes into Snape's memories in the pensieve, he sees James playing with the snitch, seeing that he had excellent reflexes. If he was a chaser, why would he be interested in playing with the snitch?

Plus, seeker is the key position as he/she can win the game despite being many goals down, so James' fame and talents on the quidditch pitch would not be so admired if he were a lowly chaser. I mean, there are three of them per team, making 12 in total - why single him out?

Why would she want to take that away from him? And I don't think that any injury can stop him from playing Quidditch . . . unless it occurs somewhere down under, which I doubt would happen in the books.

Maybe he blasted his buttocks off when stashing his wand in his back pocket - forgetting Moody's lessons on basic wand safety

So? I mean, I know lots of people who toss a ball around whether they actually play sports or not... It could be that when he tried out, he tried out for chaser because that position was open and he wanted to play Quidditch, but the position of Seeker wasn't open. Maybe he plays seeker when it's just him and his buddies (like the Weasleys play among themselves on holiday)... plus, he "nicked" the snitch... he didn't get it to practice... If J.K. Rowling said it in an interview it's about 99.9% chance that it's correct. James was chaser.

Fred and George had some down under discomfort in the fifth book...

Maybe Harry will get a magic eye like Mody. Could come in handy for detecting death eaters. Maybe all aurors should be fitted with a magic eye. :D

Make them easy to spot though...

Alright, i dont know if anyone has said this already, because the topic has drifted so far....but anyway, i think that the injury might be a MENTAL injury, not a physical one. What about when Harry learns that his father was not the wonderful person that Harry had always thought him to be? This certainly affected him a lot. He kept dwelling on what he had seen in the pensieve, and it haunted him for the rest of the year (and presumably still will). Harry now feels "cold and empty at the thought of him" (cant remember the exact quote), so i think that this may be the injury he has sustained. Am i on the right track, or was this complete rambling?

yes, i think he was. lupin (or sirius, one of the two...) said james was just being a normal teenage boy, it was nothing to fret over, but that bothered harry even more, because he certainly wasn't doing anything of the sort, and he's a teenage boy (though not a normal one...)

anywho... maybe he gets another scar? nah, not likely. jk's original enough not to do the same thing twice :D

okay, i really couldn't remember...

he doesn't do things like hex people out of boredom, but he does behave like an arrogant 15-year-old...

I don't know, I just really disliked Harry in Order of the Phoenix... he had one baaaaaaaaaad attitude...
