No idea... did JK mention it somewhere, or is this just something that we have thought up based upon the magic thatHarry performs, borth before he knew about Hogwarts, and on Aunt Marge the night before he ran away???

The thread starts stating that they are not sure where this came up from, because it sounds a little weird.

So, does anyone know what elemental magic really is, and if it is like what Harry did to Aunt Marge, and making the glass infront of the snake dissapear???

Well it seems that we people that keep posting on rumours and theories have no idea what this is,; hope the person that started this threat explains more about it.

From what I know of elemental magic in China its called Tai Chi where you harness the power of the earth as an energy source when in combat. Or in the Final Fantasy games it can be used to call upon the elements of the earth to aid you in a fight like forming ice into a shard to shoot through the air at somebody or harnessing the wind to create a whirlwind to blow somebody away. It really all depends on what angle is taken if it's taken at all. I think in Harry's case he harnessed his anger to create the mishap at the Dursley's in book three but according to the downside of Tai Chi thats when you start going all Darth Vader if you know what I'm saying. Either way I don't really want to see that in the HP world. Its been used so much.

i have heard the word magrid (ithink) andit was used to mean a very powerful wizard who didn't need to use a wand. mayie harry (or i think it should be ron) shoud be one of these.
as for elemental magic pants to it.
it'd be good if harry or ron discovered they had a higher level of power than thy thought

Remember at the end of PS, he clapped his hands to change the decorations in the Great Hall from Slytherin ones to Griffindor ones...

DD being the all knowing all seeing eye of the HP world of course it would be possible he could perform certain feats of magic without a wand. As far as his ability to use elemental magic I think he would have used it instead of the putter-outer in SS/PS. Also when he stops Harry from falling to his demise in the Quiditch Match where Harry is knocked out by the dementor he probably would have used the power of the wind to slow Harry's descent rather then use his wand to cast a spell. Besides everyone pretty much uses wands unless they their doing little things or by accident. Look at Neville. He bounced out of instinct and Harry just blew a fuse and went Exorcist on the Dusley's, not that they didn't deserve it. When it comes to elemental magic just say no.
