Metamorphmagus

Postby hagrid_fang » Thursday 12 February 2004 3:08:35pm

Everything from book 1 all the way to the order of the phoenix has had some relevence in later books. Spells, the whole animagus thing, the polyjuice potion, in book 2, and again in book 4 (mad eye moody).
Tonks, whom we met in book 5 is a metamorphmagus, people who can change their appearances at will. Will this crop up again later in the series does anyone think? Whether it be on the side of good or evil, i'm sure that tonks is going to be in the next couple of books, but it would also be interesting if there was more to this whole Metamorphmagus thing than meets the eye. I am definately intrigued by this and would be interested as to what other people think...

(I just loved to have some sort of metamorphmagus power... Hehehe  )

I believe that we will hear a lot more about those sort of people. Tonks will definately be a part of something bigger!
Anyway, about this: I have sort of a question. In the OotP, I think that Tonks says that, for Harry to become a metamorphmagus (we should abbreviate to morph...), he should learn in the hard way. Is there really a way to become a morph??? Or did I misunderstood?

hmmmm, I understood it as that the "hard way" to become a morph is to drink polyjiuce potion and use tranfiguration, stuff like that, not like becoming an animagi in wich you do certain spells or whatever and your an animagi for life...

yeah Tonks said that Metamorphmagi are born and that they are rare most wizards need to use a wand or potions, like the polyjuice potion perhaps??

So, do you think that Harry's ability to grow his hair back after Petunia cut it is a hint for him being a morph? :???: Would be cool, wouldn't it? 8)

I always assumed it was another of the magic he did when something went wrong... He hated the way he had the hair and, unconciously, changed it, by magical means, not by morphing means...

But it might be the first clue JKR gives us about that... Hmm!

 never thought of that one... like Joto I always thought that it was some normal when-your-in-trouble-magic that harry did, like the Boa Constrictor..

Actually i agree with Jotomicron, i think it could be the first clue that JK is giving us towards the whole metamorphmagus thing!! she's laying down the foundations and building up towards it maybe, i dunno :???:

Does anyone think that tonks will become the next DATDA teacher? Mayb then harry and co could start to learn what it takes to become a morph. Mayb harry's secret morph powers (if he has them) will be revealed then! :D

I also liked tonks very very much!!!
She would be such a great DADA teacher. And, as she is younger, I think the Order could give her that job, instead of real face to face fight!
