The Rebellion of Souls

A home for old scenarios who may have come to an end for RPG playing but whose life and excitement can still be enjoyed in story form.

Ian, however was curious. He darted in and out of the shadows, avoiding prefects and teachers. He finally came to the portrait. "Err, hi," The portrait mumbled in its sleep, "Can only be killed if... if you have... it" Ian snorted, "Lots of help that is,"

"But I need it!" Screeched Gringott to McGonagall. "You can't just have students waking you up in the middle of the night asking you questions. Those sorts of things could mean trouble.
McGonagall looked at him oddly.
"So, let me get this straight fine sir. You wish us to build you your own room... just so you can get to sleep easier. Ignoring that you've been reportedly dead (a very long sleep) for 2000 years." She said.
"Exactly. Well, not just for me, some of the older portraits might like to come along. And of course ghosts. You can't help ghosts. I just want the only access into the room to be through a portrait, instead of a door. A picture frame, you see. Not too much to ask for" Gringott reasoned.
McGonagall tapped her quill on the table. She had a class in twenty minutes, and she was not reknowned for being late.
"Alright, alright. Just wait a few days I'll get Flitwick and the rest of the staff down at, say, 5pm on Tuesday for the Awakening of the Space."
"Thank you, mada- ." Gringott started politely. McGonagall was already out the door.

Ian was searching for Gringott, "Oh Grinnykins! Where are you?" He wandered into the transfiguration classroom. Before Gringott could get away, Ian popped the question, "Do you know Morphena?"

Gringott grimaced. The name still shook him slightly.
"How could I forget that name. Morphena..." He said and sat down by a tree in the portrait. It was a sunset background. "Of course I know Morphena. The Demon of Fire. Although to some it's Angel. Traitors, murderers the lot of them... Yes, I know Morphena."
Ian looked at him closely.
"But... how? You're a portrait, and you've been officially dead for the last 2000 years! Morphena was alive and kicking but a month ago...?"
"What? Boy, are you alright in the head? I dealt with that nuisance Galdira a long time ago. Haven't you read the stories. Surely I've been immortalised since then!" Exclaimed the goblin.
"Galdira?" Asked Ian.
"Morphena Galdira. What do you know, boy? I sense you're missing something. Honestly, I don't have time for this rabbling. Us portraits have better things to do with our time than sit around all day... Although we haven't come up with what is it yet. I'm sure the library will have plenty of information for you if you ever wish to know more." He finished hurriedly.
"Thank you, sir, but -"
"Good day," Gringott, and marched off.

Ian spent the next few days pouring over books, when a thought struck him.

"Proffesor Weilem," Ian asked, "You are such an amazing teacher, I have to know more about charms. They have a good book, but it's in the restricted section. Can you sign for it? It's called, The Rise and Fall of the Galdiras." "How," Weilem asked, "will this help you with charms?" "The Galdiras were great charmers," Ian responded.

Ian held the book in his hands. This was it. He opened the book...

The Circle gathered, and held hands, with McGonagall at the front, facing the empty space. Together the teachers and the rest of the staff, including ghosts, began to chant:

"Witches, wizards, look what we've done,
Complete the line, the Circle of One,
With passion, fury, make this doom,
The very, special, Portrait Room!"

And so it was that a room was created within the castle than none had access to except the ghosts, and the portraits.
In fact, to everybody else, the room did not even exist. There Gringott found his refuge from the hustle and bustle of life, and relaxed for a well earned break. All this talk of a Morphena had been quite distressing.

Ian pounded his head with the book. He kept on searching but could find nothing about Morphena. Luckily, he had learned about the very first person to bewitch cheese. Maybe he had the wrong book? But how could that be, if Gringott said that Morphena's surname was Galdira? There are plenty of Galdiras in the world, this book probably focuses on just one family. But there weren't plenty of Galdiras in the world, and this book is supposed to focus on all of the Galdiras.

It was time for the arrival of a new age. The phoenix rose form the ashes, and flew out from the cave.
Hand in hand the two forces of evil from the powers of magic, Elvish and Sorcery, would reign under the old Throne. Once again they would have the power that was once fearful. Morphena Galdira had corrupted the mind of Dumbledore, and the power of a phoenix was not one to be trifles with.
The Goblin and the Wizard marched side-by-side, under the setting sun.

... Ian read as he looked through the book. He scanned the page... there it was, Morphena! He continued reading:

Together, led by Grindelwald, they would cause more destruction then the world will ever see. But what of the girl? The sweet little girl could as much look upon you as kill you. The little girl by the name of Morphena Galdira...

With the arrival of Gringott'a portrait in the castle, Steph was becoming rather suspicious...not just because Ian was talking to it, but because she knew that Gringott was actually Morphena...

ARGH!!! I'm confused thought Steph...this was too much stress...

Maybe it was time to go see the family...

So Steph packed up her things then went down to go talk to the Headmistress...when she arrived back at her Dorm, she was a bout to grab her stuff but she saw someone on the bed..., Ian was there, big smile on his face...

"What are you doing in my dorm and why are you on my bed???"

Galdira had awoken from the darkness. The goblin and wizard marched on together, through the rain and darkness.
Around them foul creatures followed, seeking enlightenment, or an end to their suffering. The Morphena's supplied both, gladly.
Lightning struck in the north, and the Two set out to cover the lands in darkness.

One by one, the cities fell. Muggles fled, and the various global ministries of magic couldn't deal with the crisis.
War had come to the wizarding world, once again.

Havoc was abroad, the smell of Fear appalling. But then, Fear never was one to mess with. In ancient Goblededook, what was fear, but Galdira.[/i]

Recordings of the annual UWS(Union of Worldwide Sorcery) summit held in Britain over the weekend:

"Eastern Europe fell before it could put up a defense. Luckily, the muggle mind has an intriguing nature to reject the glaringly obvious, and the surrounding magical effects are leaving some with serious brain damage. Last week, the Wall (magical border protecting Eastern Europe from invaders) fell, and the exiled creatures from the Far East fled in. The dark creatures of the night entered, and the entire [smart] magical population fled the area in fear.
We still do not know what strange phenonmena is causing this disturbance, but the local Ministries of Magical Interference office have been working around the clock to solve this problem.
In the meantime, I suggest constant vigilance, and a minor state of emergency for all nations involved."

Well... um see this Morphena yeah, so you know Morphena Dumbledore? Well, there's this Morphena Galdira. I dunno, the Gringott portrait seems to know her, so well here's the book.
