I agree, of the three kids, Daniel is the weakest actor but he improves
with each movie. Aside from the unfortunate crying scene, this was by far his
best performance. I get goosebumps when I think about the Expecto
Patronum scene and the appearance of the stag.
But why get new actors? JK wrote the books with the kids aging 1 year
as the books progress. So far the kids have aged with the books and
the movies. Filming has already started on GoF {Emma said so in an
interview I saw last week} and they are still the right age.
I'm all for waiting{as hard as it is} to see what happens next.

If they keep producing a movie per year they wont have to change the actors. (unless the actors will want to leave). I mean its probably really hard for them to keep filming all the time. The reason why they were talking about gettin new actors is because they were afraid that there would be a break between the movies (I guess somewhere between movies 5,6,7)

I agree about Dan - improved GREATLY! he was awsome in the last movie!!!

Hey guys, some OotP Movie news: Mira Nair has been offered the job of directing the OotP Movie! They are planning on releasing the movie summer of 2007 or something like that. Man, that is going to be in a long time...they will be gradutating soon. Well its a rough estimate, im glad they are planning a OotP movie though.

if they change the kids that play the current leading roles it is going to suck but i dont see why they cant keep them today on tv most of the people that play teenagers are in there mid twenties anyways

I'm not sanguine about GoF.

Mike Newell is a great director but I hear he wanted to do the film in two halves in order to cover everything - with the second half to be released a few months after the first. Given the length of the book that seems like it would have been a good idea.

Who talked him out of it? Alfonso Cuarón - who directed PoA the book of which was half the length of GoF and yet Cuarón cut a great deal of it, changed the story, and changed the character of Snape (by having him protect the kids from Lupin).

It's not clear to me that Newell ought to have listened to Cuarón, of all people.

Hi all - Dan, Rupert and Emma have ALL signed for OOTP and it looks like they might have Bellatrix Lestrange as well!!! Helen McCrory

I know this actress, she's not been in much else but British TV drama's but I think she was also in Count of Monte Cristo.

They say filming starts early next year but do we really think it will be next Christmas before it's out. It'd be nice but I don't think it's realistic. It's the biggest book so far

I can't see the actress in your link, but I've found another picture of her here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v712/wildeanne/977299e1.jpg - Helen McCrory. She's pretty, isn't she? Though she looks a bit too nice for Bellatrix (but I suppose that can be easily changed).

Hey they moved the photo!! She was in Count of Monte Cristo she's very good. I'm not sure I can imagine her with an evil shriek like laugh yet...!

I really want to know who's playing Tonks - I think it should be Kate Winslet!!!

Hi All

First Off, here's the latest cast list for OOTP

http://www.mugglenet.com/movies/movie5/otpcast.shtml

Personally I think Anna Friel would have been better for Tonks than Natalie Tena who played the Marcus's girlfriend in About a Boy but never mind. I do like the look of the bloke playing

Plus they have sort of confirmed the release date for OOTP..

Damn sorry for double-post! - I posted that before I finished it and I can't edit it for some reason - I meant to say I like the look of the bloke of the person playing Magorian. I wonder who will play Firenze then?

Hey, if that release date is correct, and the presumed book release date of 7-7-07 is correct, the US will get book 7, and then 1 week later get OotP in theaters! :D

Yeah, everyone has been saying things about the whole 7/7/07 thing...

But it sucks...everything is coming out at the same time for me!!!! OotP, Book 7, the 3rd book of the Eragon Eldest trilogy, plus I think the Eragon movie is supposedly july 2007...

Helen McCrory is no longer playing Bella! It's now Helena Bonham Carter who I absolutely love. I think she'll be much better!!! Also Prof Grubbly Plank has been cast
