Alaina took a deep breath and walked downstairs to talk to her parents. Well, here goes nothing, she thought.

"Mum, Dad? I need to talk to you."

"Okay, sweetie." Mum said.

"I need to get back into the Wizarding world. I'm depressed here without my friends. Everyone at school makes fun of me. I don't belong here. I belong with Wizards and Witches. I am a witch. Being stuck in the Muggle world with no contact with wizards isn't going to change that. I can't live here anymore. I miss Hogwarts. I miss my best friends, Sirius and Cellistine. I'm planning to meet them in London, but I want your permission."

"No way, Alaina. It's too dangerous. Your ministry told us what went on at the end of last school year. There is no way I'm letting you re-join that world with that maniac on the loose. What's his name again? Volderant?" Dad said.

"Voldemort. And it's not like I'm in no danger here. He has no problems killing muggles. Plus, with me, a witch here, you guys are probably in more danger."

"Honey, no, we can't let you do that. You're only 12. Where do you expect to live? And get your education?" mom reasoned.

"I asked my friend Cellistine if I could stay with her. Her mom's a witch and her dad's a muggle. And education? I'm not getting much education here. Look at my grades. And the education I get at this school is worthless in my world! Please! How would you guys feel if you had to live in the wizarding world, with no contact with muggles?"

"Okay, you have a point. But you can't just run off. We might let you go, but we have to meet Cellistine's parents. Tell them to come by the house this weekend and we'll talk it over. If it's okay with them, then we might be able to arrange something." dad told Alaina.

"Oh, thank you!!!"

Alaina rushed back up to her room to wait for Cedric to come back so she could tell Sirius and Cellistine the plan.

Edward bought a brand new broomstick for his own pleasure.

For my pleasure? he thought. I don't ride?

Be silent!

And his thoughts were silenced.

Sirius mounted her firebolt. Night had fallen. Morpheus had finally made his visit to this hemisohere in this World. It was a cloudy night and you couldn' tell that she was there thanks to the dissiluitment charm. Celestine hadn't been able to come. Sirius kicked off hard from the ground and soared of in the moonlight to rescue her friend.

Alaina was back in her room. She hardly spent time in the rest of her house. Her sister, Miss Popular, always had friends over. They always looked at her weird and laughed at her when she thought Alaina couldn't hear them. So, for her sanity, she preferred to spend time in her room, with only Max for company.

Alaina decided she would watch for Cedric. She was sure that Sirius would send him back with another letter. Then Alaina would be able to tell her the plan. But what she saw coming toward her window wasn't a raven. It was still too far away to tell what it was, but it was too big to be a raven.

What could it be? It almost looked like someone on a broom. But it couldn't be. Could it? As far as Alaina knew, there were no witches or wizards living near Alaina. The closest ones were probably in London, which was a half hour broom ride away. And why would they want to visit Alaina anyway?

But the more Alaina watched it, the more she was sure. It was a witch or wizard! But who.... She sat down excitedly, ready to welcome the witch or wizard into her room.

The evening air seemed even colder than usual, and Raylene pulled the collar of her travelling robes high. She'd finished her little duties, and was heading back to the Leaky Cauldron for a quick drink before going home.

There were only a few others still outside at this time- three wizards hunched over something at the entrance to Knockturn Alley which she probably didn't want to know about, and a slightly dazed looking schoolboy. As he passed her, Raylene looked after him curiously: his arms were full of books, a broomstick was balanced on top of them, and he was all alone- no friends or parents, not even a free hand to draw his wand if necessary. These days, that was either foolishness or reckless bravery.

He turned a corner, and disappeared from her sight. Raylene shrugged and began walking towards the pub again. But suddenly an incredibly strong feeling of foreboding knotted her stomach. Cursing her reawakened Sight under her breath, though with no conviction, she turned around and followed him- slipping a hand into her pocket and gripping her wand tightly.

Celistine was catching up with Sirius on her old silver arrow. She had come back with it, ready to go, but Sirius was aready a speck in the distance. But now she was flying right alongside Sirius, and just in time too, for they were in sight of Alaina's window. Celistine's heartbeat quickened, she hadn't had been this happy since she was made chaser on the Ravenclaw quidditch team.

Alaina started preparing for the arrival of the witch or wizard. She shut her door quickly so her nosy sister wouldn't come in. And she grabbed her wand and put it in the back pocket of her jeans, just in case. Alaina still wasn't sure who the witch or wizard was.

But when Alaina next glanced out the window, she saw there were 2 wizards or witches approaching! Oh, this is so exciting! A minute later, Alaina was able to make out their faces. They were 2 witches. And another glance told her that they were Sirius and Cellistine! Alaina quickly opened her window and cleared some space beneath it so her two friends would be able to enter her room.

"Sirius! Cellistine! What are you guys doing here?!" Alaina shouted excitedly.

"To get you out of here!" Sirius replied.

He found his parents relaxing in The Leaky Cauldron.

"I want to go home," it sounded like he said.

"Of course, dear..." said his mother. "Just a few mor -"

"I want to go home now," he complained firmly.

After a minute or so, his parents gave in and took the shorter route of floo powder back to the Bones Mansion.

She'd ended up in the Leaky Cauldron after all, and the boy had met up with his parents safely. If she had been a rookie, this would have made her blush with embarassment and hurry over to apologise. Instead, she walked up to the bar and ordered a bottle of butterbeer as if everything was normal- well, as normal as anything was these days.

Raylene sipped at her drink thoughtfully, chiding herself for heeding her instincts without applying basic logic to her thoughts. But the feeling came again, though not as strongly, when the family passed her on their way to the pot of floo powder by the fire and disappeared. Another troubling thought occured to her as she saw their faces properly- they were the Bones', and very highly respected: after the loss of Amelia why was she so suspicious of the youngest- Edward, was it?

Alphonse bade goodbye to the Bones family as they left using the floo network. Looking at the clock, he realised he has been out for quite sometimes.

"Better go home before it is too late," Alphonse thought. Finishing his last sip, he stood back and accidentally knocked into an elderly lady who seemed deep in thought. Thankfully it was a gentle bump and the lady did not tumbled down.

"I'm terribly sorry, Mdm," Al apologised profusely.

Raylene looked up, and smiled gently at the flustered expression on the lad's face- it was rare to see such politeness and concern in these dark times.

"It's quite alright, young man- nothing's broken and I still have my drink."

She thought about inquiring after Edward, since the lad had been sat with them, but decided against it- much too direct. Instead, Raylene finished her Butterbeer and got up to head back to the office. She'd got to the door by the time she remembered her own manners, and turned to the polite boy before returning to the Muggle streets.

"Thank you" she said with a slight nod.

"We've decided to take things into our own hands," Celistine said, rubbing her hands together to warm them, "besides, i haven't had a poper flight in ages." Celistine looked around Alaina's room and said, "So, where's your broom?" "In the wardrobe." Alaina replied. "Okay, grab it, pack your things, and we'll be off." Sirius said, and then added, "Unless you want to write a note or talk to your parents or something."

She was following us, the voice said. You did the right thing by leaving.

Edward felt as though he was in a dream, and that he was being rewarded generously.

Now that you're home, you're safe. No one can touch you now. Use that new cauldron of yours, and mix a delightful potion that will take all your fears away.

Edward laughed.

"I can't leave now, guys. My parents would freak out. They have no idea you're here. But I just talked to them. They said it might be okay for me to go live with you, Cellistine, but they need to meet your parents. Would it be okay if you guys just spent the night? And Cellistine, could you ask your parents to come here tomorrow to talk to my parents? I just can't leave. My parents are honestly just scared for me. They are really afraid of Voldemort. As much as I hate being here, I can't just leave and worry them like that." Alaina explained.

"And if the muggles say no?'" asked Sirius patiently.
