RPG: Dark Times [Suspended]

Celistine was having a dream. She was flying with her friends over Diagon Alley. They swooped lower. Soon, a dark figure came into view. The person looked up, as if about to say something, but then Celistine woke up to find she was sweating.

Sirius was creeping around outside. She hadn't slept inside at the orphanage much because it had always been crowded and the other children made fun of her. Cedric flew over to join her. Sirius lay down in the grass, the soft, cool breeze running through the blades and her hair. Cedric curled up in a ball beside her. She lay there all night. Dreaming of lighter times, far away, far ago, and once upon and forested glade.

Alaina watched her friends as they slept. Celistine appeared to be dreaming, she was twitching and sweating a bit. Alaina walked across the room to get a better look at Sirius, then she realized Sirius wasn't in her sleeping bag! It was Max who created the lump towards the top of the bag, not Sirius.

Alaina decided she would try to find Sirius. Where could she have gone a this hour? From her bedroom, Alaina could see that the bathroom was empty. Maybe she was downstairs in the kitchen, but it was awfully quiet.

Alaina tiptoed out of the room so as not to wake Celistine. Max woke up and followed her out of the room. Alaina searched the whole house, but could not find Sirius. Maybe she decided to explore the neighborhood. Max started pawing at the back door, a sign that told Alaina he needed to go out.

Alaina grabbed Max's leash, a few plastic bags, and some treats. She figured since she was awake, she'd take Max for his morning walk instead of her dad. He must have not slept well, as he was usually up walking Max by now.

Alaina and Max stepped out the back door and onto the lawn. A bird crowed and Max was off. Alaina was yanked halfway across the yard. She was not expecting Max to take off right away, but he did like to chase birds. Alaina saw that the bird was Cedric and called Max to her and gave him a treat. Then she noticed Sirius lurking near the garden.

"What are you doing out here, Sirius?" Alaina asked as she tried to keep Max away from Cedric. Cedric flew up into a tall oak tree and Max gave up on trying to catch him.

"Sleeping,"Sirius said as those it was the most obvious thing in the world,"What else would I be doing?"

"Why are you sleeping outside? Was it because of Celistine's snoring? You could have slept in the living room," Alaina asked. "Anyway, I'm really nervous about going to Diagon Alley. But I can't wait to get to Celistine's house. That's going to be a lot of fun. I just wish I could bring Max with me."

Alaina sat down next to Sirius and Max wandered over to her and sat down in her lap. "Ooof! You're not a lap dog, you know! But I love you. I'm going to miss you so much." Alaina wrapped her arms around Max and gave him a big hug.

Celistine woke up, put on her robes, and went outside. She then climbed up a big oak tree in the backyard where Cedric flew up to her.

Sirius sighed,"I knew that it was going to have to come to this. But I tried to put it off for as long as possible,"she took a deep breath,"I am from an alternate time."

"What do you mean? 'From another time'???" Alaina shouted in a confused tone. Max got up and started to wander around the yard.

"Just what I said. In my world, it's really the late Middle Ages and the Reinnessance is just starting. Haven't you ever wondered why I am the only one who actually enjoys history of magic and can correct the proffessor?
"I was walking down an alley when a elderly man jumped out and captured me. It was the same man who convicted me of stealing gold pocket-watch which his grandfather gave him. He said that it was a gift from th late king himself. I got off, but he was mad. He said that I would pay for making him a fool in front of his subbordinates. He was a very wealthy man. And that I better watch my back.
"He forced me into a cupboard and when I went into a strange, almost life-less trance. Like I was dead yet alive, asleep yet awake. When I awoke. I wound up in a slightly large yard of tangled weeds. It was an orphanage. A lot like the one where I used to live, only much more modern. My guess is that it is the same one, and if you look at the old records which I'm not sure if anyone as in a long while and I'm rather certain that only quite a few have ever, you will see my name."Sirius finished her monologue with a sigh, wistled for Cedric, and stared off longingly at the large nothingness that meant very little to her in the distance of what to her was the future.

"Seriously? Okay, if I wasn't a witch, I'd never believe that. But being in the magical world for the past year and a half, as crazy as your story might sound, I actually believe you. So, what are you going to do now? Are you trying to find your way back to the middle ages? Or do you want to stay here? If you can go back, could you do something to change the course of history?" Alaina asked.

"Wow, this is making my brain hurt," Alaina said. Max ran over to the big oak tree and started barking at it. "What are you barking at, Max?" Alaina asked as she glanced up into the oak tree. "Oh, hi Celistine! I didn't know you were awake. Come on down. Did you hear what Sirius just said?"

"I'll just do whatever the future holds. I'm not sure what I want."said Sirius coming out of her reverie. she shook her head.

"Wow, that's- that's- wow." Celistine said. "Well, since we're telling secrets now, I guess I'll tell mine." Celistine sighed. Here goes nothing, she thought. "I, I'm a descendent of Ravenclaw, and-" Wait, they shouldn't know that yet. Celistine thought, I won't tell them until I know they should know. "and that's it." Celistine saw that they were still staring at her, so she said quickly, "It's such a nice day, why din't we all go to a safe place to play quidditch?"

"Okay, Celistine," Alaina said in a suspicious tone. She realized that Celistine must not want them to know her secret yet. That was fine. If both of her friends told their secrets, then Alaina might be expected to tell hers. And that was something she was just not ready for.

"We can not play Quidditch anywhere around here. Sorry. We can't risk the muggles finding us. Why don't we go inside and have something to eat. And after that, I'll need some help packing," Alaina said as she got up and started to walk to the door. "C'mon, Max!" Max got up and ran over to Alaina, he knew that breakfast was coming.

"I'll leave cedric out here for awhile. He needs his breakfast, too."Sirius followed Alaina inside,"So you're definateley coming?"

Celistine followed them inside, releived that Alaina seemed to understand that she couldn't tell them her secret yet. As they ate their breakfast, Celistine began to wonder how her mother was going to get here, because their car was getting an oil change. Just as she started to worry, the flames in the fireplace turned green, and Celistine's mom appeared.
"Mum!" Celistine said, getting up from the table to go see her," I didn't know you were coming by floo powder!"
