After the Battle [Suspended]

Sydney let out a short scream as she saw the duck transform. She quickly covered her mouth. The duck was an animagus! But who was he? He was very big, much bigger than your average man. And Sydney just noticed a hippogriff walking along side him!

Sydney cautiously approached the large man, who had stopped walking and turned around when he hear Sydney's scream. She fumbled in her torn robes for her wand. She held it out towards the man. Sydney had never seen him before, and therefore did not know if he was on their side or if he was a Death Eater.

"Who are you?" Sydney asked nervously, her heart beating fast.

Celeste looked around the grounds, she couldn't see anyone. Then who laughed? she thought. Then she heard someone scream. Celeste took out her wand and ran towards the place where it came from. she was almost there when she tripped on a tree root. A tree root from the Whomping Willow.

Franccisco Fribergundtrigmenderfner, formerly a rather odd duck, turned around at the sound of the scream to find a student staring at him her wand pointing at his chest. He did not pull out his own wand however because he knew that she was only wondering if he was a Death Eater left over from the battle based on the fact that she was still standing there and had not been ripped to shreds by his hippogriff, Stormswift, who had an uncanny ability to since peoples personalitys.

Sydney stared at the man and continued to point her wand at his chest. She had never heard of anyone who went by that name. But it was the most ridiculous name she had ever heard. The man had even more middle names than Dumbledore.

Sydney walked slowly towards the man in order to get a closer look at him. He must be part Giant, she thought. "What are you doing here? Who are you affiliated with?" she asked cautiously. Although Sydney had a feeling he was on their side, since if he was a Death Eater and had wanted to kill her, he surely would have pulled out his wand and done the deed by now.

Franc looked at the girl pointing her wand at him and said."Well I came here to help fight against Voldemort but evidently apparently I got here a little late"

This seemed to satisfy her as she lowered her wand.

Sydney lowered her wand. Then she stuck out her hand. "Well, I'm Sydney Kaper. I'm a sixth year, and yes you missed the battle. It was horrible. So many people injured and dead," Sydney started to tear up again as she was reminded of Colin.

"But there is still so much to do. If you want to help, you could come up to the castle and help repair and rebuild the castle or if you have any skill at healing, you could help Madam Pomfrey and the healers," Sydney explained.

"Although I would like to talk about your ability as an Animagus. That's really neat. I've only ever seen Professor McGonagall transform. I really like ducks, well I like all animals, really. But I have a duck. His name is Drake. You haven't seen him by any chance, have you?" Sydney asked.

Celeste realized where she was and got up. Right in time to be hit in the stomach by a branch. And on her shoulder by another. The next one she dodged. Celeste thrust her hand in her robes for her wand, but no sooner had she gotten it out that it was knocked out of her hand by another branch. Not good.
But just as the whole tree was about to come down on her, the black hippogrif she'd seen before came swooping out of nowhere. Celeste climbed onto its back, and as they took off from the ground, just barely managed to grab her wand. The black hippogrif flew in the direction of the lake, towards who knows what, but at least she had her wand and wasn't being hit by branches anymore.

"What should we do with the body?" a man whom Alan recognized as Mr. Weasley. And he knew that he was talking about Volemort's body. They couldn't leave it in the chamber off of the hall forever. People began to shout out ideas.
"The Room of Requiremt?" suggested a tall, dark wizard whom Alan had never seen before.
"Oh yeah,' stated a tall Ravenclaw boy from Alan's potions class. "A fine thing for a future student to come across."
"Why would anyone at Hogwarts be looking for a place to put a dead body?" queried Professor Vector.
"Throw him in the lake? Then The Giant Squid can have some fun." stated a younger Hufflepuff-giggling sightly at the thought-whom Alan had never spoken to before.
"Preposterous!"cried McGonagall, whom up till this point had remained uncharacteristically silent."That is where Albus rests!"
"Why don't we take him into the forest and bury him there?" Alan said, boldly stepping forward. :I'll do it. I don't mind"
It was decided that this was what was to be done. The Ravenclaw boy agreed to accompany him. And, with the limp body of the previous terrorist to The Wizarding World hanging before them, the head of Tom Riddle lolling to one side, the two young Wizards set off into the night.

"Sorry, I haven't seen any real ducks since I got here"

Right after he said that Franc noticed that Stormswift was no longer at his side, he looked around and saw that he was heading back to them with what appeared to be a person on his back.

"Oh, okay," Sydney said, disappointed. "I sent Drake, my duck, with a letter to my mum about the battle, but I guess it's too soon for him to be back."

Sydney glanced up at the sky, and noticed a large animal flying towards them. Sydney realized that it was a hippogriff with a person on it's back.

"Whoa! Is that your hippogriff?" Sydney asked Franc. Sydney craned her head to get a better look at the hippogriff, and as she did, she noticed 2 figures carrying another figure into the forest.

"Yeah, that's Stormswift, my pet hippogriff, I wonder who he's carrying..."

Stormswift landed beside them and looked at Franc as if asking for a treat Franc patted his head and turned to the girl on his back.

"Are you alright? What happened?" he asked her.

The hippogrif landed by the lake. 2 people were there. The sixth year Celeste had seen earlier, and a huge man she didn't know.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Oh, I just nearly got killed by the Whomping Willow." Celeste replied casualy.

Sydney had noticed something flying above the forest as she was looking at the 2 figures. They were large, almost like horses, but reptilian. Her heart sank into her stomach. She realized they must be thestrals. Sydney remembered learning about them in Care of Magical Creatures. Only people who saw death could see them. Sydney had seen death. Seeing the thestrals just made her think about the battle again. She started shaking. Sydney wished the thestrals would just go away, she did not want to see them.

Sydney jumped as Franc answered her question and the hippogriff landed next to them. A girl Sydney had seen in the Hospital Wing climbed off Stormswift. She said she'd been near the Whomping Willow.

"Are you ok?" Sydney asked. But she couldn't stop looking at the thestrals. She was trying to forget about them, to just focus on the girl and the hippogriff. But she couldn't get them off her mind. She knew now why the only boy in her class who could see them didn't get very excited about it. All the other students asked him about them, but he didn't want to answer. Sydney now understood. Suddenly, she didn't feel too good.

"Fine, fine." Celeste said. "But you aren't, your as white as a sheet. Is something wrong?"

Sydney turned around as the girl answered her. "Huh? Oh, I'm ok. Yeah, I'm fine. I just....saw something...." Sydney's voice trailed off. She turned back to look at the forest again.

"I, just think, I'll sit down for a bit," Sydney said in a faint voice, as she sat down on a nearby rock.
