As some of you may know, the 5th book was pre-ordered and paid for by me, my brother, and my boyfriend for my mother as a belated Mother's Day gift (the other gift was "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" on DVD). I was getting all sorts of teased by everyone who thought that I really convinced my brother and boyfriend to help me buy the book so I could get my hands on it myself!
Now, I won't lie when I say I was quite chuffed that my mother planned on letting me read it first when it got here on June 21 (which, coincidentally, the book didn't show up on the 21st until late in the afternoon!

). So, you may be wondering, how have I managed to finish reading it if I got it so late (or even, finished reading it at all so soon??

)? Well, I didn't get it at the 'Harry Potter' party on June 20th (because my mother felt we didn't need two new copies [we could wait for a second when it became cheaper, not to mention she wants to get the CDs, and there's only so much money to be spent!] and I thought the pre-ordered copy would be here on the 21st early!). So, when I woke up on June 21st and it hadn't come by mid-morning, I couldn't stand it!
And then, coming up the stairs, with a shy, happy smile on her face was my mother . . . with the new book and a 'Harry Potter' magazine for me. I thought the book had been delivered and I was still sleeping, but she said that it hadn't . . . that the copy she was giving me was one she and my father woke up really early to go get at the store for me so I could read when I woke up! AWWWWWWWW! I hugged her and cried a little cause I'm soppy like that!
So, I read nearly non-stop . . . still managed to eat, drink, communicate, and get things done, but I was hooked!

I also knew, since I've just applied for a job, that once I get an interview and hopefully start working, I'd have a lot less time to read, as well as everytime I put down the book for any substantial amount of time, I lost my momentum.

For me, personally, and everyone is different, I felt I enjoyed and understood the book more in uniterrupted stretches rather than reading the book bit by small bit. As I've said before, to each their own style and method.

I'm the type to re-read books I enjoy several times, and I'm sure there's lots I missed and will better understand on a second reading (which I'm sure I'll do soon!), which will be much slower and evenly paced

. . . I'm looking forward to it and posting here (in the book 5 sections) with all of you!
How and when did you get and how and when did you read the book? As I said in my title, there shouldn't be any spoilers in this thread, as I've mentioned nothing about content, and I can't imagine why anyone else would. I just thought it'd be fun to share our stories of how we got our copy and what we did.

Hope you lot enjoyed it as much as I did!
~ Lizzy
