I just looked up Neo's and Melody Granger's post history and MG hasn't been on for five months! Neo hasn't been on for nearly three weeks and therefore I think we really need Hemione Weasley to become a moderator.

Paul, maybe you could email MG to find out if she's returning?

Also I think the inter-house competitions need to be more regular as at the moment there's topics for everything outside of the common rooms leaving little need for their existance.

Hmm... We in Slytherin are working out a very interesting *cough* world domination *cough* plan at the moment

And then there is still the quiz coming up and then hopefully quidditch... But yes, perhaps we could think of something else to encourage competition as well...

What I found interesting whilst investigating, is that even with no external influences the houses each have about the same number of people in them! Although some are more active than others.

I can't think of anything apart from inter-house quizzes we could do though. :???:

Methinks Gwared is the chosen one judging on the grinning smiley by his name.  But, if he isn't, and we all have a fair shot, it depends on if Paul would let me mod a 4th forum...he (or others) might find that too greedy, but if Paul is willing to let me do it, I'm game  , but I don't want to take anything away from Mint or Gwared either. :) I'm flattered to be thought of--cheers! :D

I'm game but if Lizzy is allowed by Paul and/or Mint would rather do it I'd let them fo first as they've been here far longer than I have.

On second thought, with a job interview today (which, if all goes well, will lead to a JOB! ) and considering I already have three forums which I mod, I think the job should either one of the other two people Sonkem mentioned...Gwared seems to be bowing out to me and Mint, so I think if Mint wants to do it (to my knowledge, she's only modding two forums and would be a GREAT mod in the 'welcome' section :D ), I hope you, Paul, will let her...I think she and Sonkem could make a great team, and then I won't be over my limit for forums, and Minit is just such a nice person besides! JMHO. :)

P.S.--Nothing personal, Sonkem...just thought on how busy I'll be and how I already have three forums to mod...I appreciate you thinking of me! :D

First off, Hermione Weasley, no problem. I’m sure you’ll make an excellent moderator of the common room.

Secondly, I’ve decided to leave BaO. My reasoning is complicated but;

In the welcome area I was not aware that ‘copyright’ (for want of a better word) was held on the welcoming items; therefore I used them with gusto, unaware I was offending Sonkem. On one such threads I started Sonkem joked that everyone would like my threads more as I used both confetti and glitter. I thought it would be funny to do a thread whereby I used all three sorting hat merchandises; the Hermy thread for which you can no longer see due to Sonkem editing it. Unfortunately I highlighted the wrong word and perhaps changed the meaning of the whole sentence to be mis-read in a nasty fashion.

Shortly after this I read Lizzy’s thread about how upset Sonkem was getting about the merchandise and was myself taken aback with guilt as I was, quite clearly, the worst offender. Before I could however take that in Sonkem PMed me a rather nasty, but fair enough due to the miss-communication that occurred, comment on the Hermy thread (even though a PM earlier about the problem would have perhaps resolved this amicably), threatening me with many kinds of things all of which left me rather affronted, shocked and hurt to the point where at the time my hands were shaking as I typed my reply. Prehaps I should have waited as my reply was straight and logical (as I am in real-life) but without the person-person contact you are unable to read the intention of comments, maybe mine would seem a touch arrogant and even resentful of being accused.

Shortly after I sent my reply I saw the comment in the Hermy thread Sonkem had left for me, I decided then to leave. I am being rash, as Sonkem has not been on since so may have not seen my PM’s and I cannot commit to the hurtful public comments on the thread as she has not read my explanation, but once there is bad-blood it can persist indefinitely. Sonkem has been here much longer than me and thus it only seems correct that I should be the one to leave. Prehaps I will return but I doubt it, I think I shall leave a while to calm down as I’m still in shock.

Thank you to everyone who made my brief time here enjoyable, including and especially Sonkem, as until our miscommunication I enjoyed your banter in the welcome threads amongst the most at this forum.

*squirms nervously*

*gulp*

whoops....i didn't mean you to leave, i just wanted you to stop using my stuff....to me it looked like a very nasty dig at me cos id complained earlier...i didn't know you hadn't seen that....i should have probably waited before i did anything but my sister wanted the computer and i had to get off immediately so i just sent a pm and edited which probably needed more careful thought....oops...and then i wasnt online to see any replies till now.....

Gwared, are you sure leaving is best option? Couln't you and Sonkem try talking things out? One miscommunication doesn't mean you will always miscommunicate! I'm certain she didn't want you to feel bad, no normal person wants somebody else to feel that way. I hope things work out for both of you..

If you've made up your mind for sure, I want to say I've enjoyed your posts, and thanks for being here.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeey
Don't leave!!! I don't know what exactly happened but it's sad when people become so angry with each other because of misunderstandings, etc. And even if there ARE some, it doesn't mean that one of you should leave...

Gwared,

Unfortunately, you may not be around anymore to read this :( , but I certainly never meant to give you any reason to leave :-( ...I simply wanted to give you the 'heads up' on a situation I felt might become explosive. I know you had no nasty intent, and I certainly had none, whatsoever, in my thread...but, having been someone who has gotten on the wrong side of things in that area, I could see trouble brewing, so my post was simply meant as a warning. I am terribly sorry you are feeling hurt--that was never my aim. I think you are a lovely poster who has contributed such interesting threads and posts to this site. :D

If you do read this, please take some time and think about leaving for good. Obviously, the decision lies sorely with you and I can only apologize for my part in things, but I can certainly say, compared to most forums I've seen or experienced, with the rare exception of rudeness/out-of-order behavior on BaO, this forum is VERY friendly and fun...I am, by no meaning, suggesting you have no right to be hurt (you certainly do!), but at 25, I've found, in life, sometimes it helps to take a step back and look at the whole picture...this is coming from someone who is very sensitive herself and takes things so much to heart. :)

Certainly, forums are to be fun and why come online to feel bad, but then again, the amount of times I feel great and enjoy myself FAR outweigh the 'human mistake' factor found here...we all have our times...I'm not making excuses, but I am saying, please consider all the people here (like me!!) who think you are really fab and consider all the great discussions and posts found here...you would be sorely missed if you leave for good. I hope today finds you feeling a little better...please, again, accept my sincere apology if my warning you came off harshly in any way...it was certainly not intended that way...I simply wanted to make you aware--this situation was exactly the kind of scenario I was hoping to head off! You are absolutely right in your assertion that there is no 'copyright' on welcoming nor does any one person have a monopoly, however, I was simply warning you that you might be at risk at stepping on toes...again, Gwared, please reconsider and my sincere apologies, again, to you.
