Birthday Gift

Postby Friar Tuck » Saturday 2 August 2003 2:44:00am

My sister's birthday is August 9th, and I still don't know what to get her(I have probably until August 10th b/c she works the 9th  ) The money I have I'm saving for one of those graphing calculators( 10 bucks US) What should I get/do for her? She likes music and Colin Farrell.

How old is she going to be? One things with which succes is (almost) always guaranteed, is a frame for a photo! At least, when you really don't know anything else, a nice frame is something you can use as plan B or something! Good luck !

20 eh. What is the amount of money you want to spend on a gift? What I mean to say is, that gifts or presents don't have to be expensive in order to be great gifts.

You could buy her a cd, or a poster of this Colin Farrel (if you can find one somewhere), but it's pretty hard to come up with something for an older brother or sister, I know. My own brother will become 21 on the 20th of August, and all he's asked for are really expensive things, which I can't afford alone, and maybe not even if my sister and I buy something together :-? !

yeah a picture frame is always a good one, especially if oyu are strapped for cash. maybe one with photographs of you and her at special times whilst growing up?

i know it sounds well corney but it really is the thought that counts and you don't have to spend a tonne to have put a lot of thought into your gift and the truly personal presents are treasured for ever.

good luck!

A picture frame with a favorite picture of you two together would be a great gift. I think they have picture frames that have little sayings at walmart if you live in the states.

Picture frames are definitly a great idea. I remember last year for my birthday one of my friends bought me a cheap disposable camera and a little photo album. After I opened it we hung out all day and used up the pictures we stopped by walmart and she payed to get them developed, and then we put them in the album. I know that's not the exact same thing as a picture frame, but it's the same general idea. Girls love picture stuff. I hope this helped a little, and good luck with whatever you get

Just on an unrelated note... 9th August is the National Day of Singapore... it's my country's 38th birthday. ^_^

As for your sister... if she likes music, how about a CD that she likes? Or if you have no money... maybe you can burn a CD of all her favourite songs for her? A blank CD is relatively cheap, and this requires more time and effort than money... and this shows more sincerity anyhow. Unless of course, if you or your sister is a strong proponent of original CDs...

( happy Brthday Singapore!!)

the present idea with the disposeable camera is so good!! i'm deffinately going to do that for my next mates birthday.

on topic i think personal presents are ALWAYS better because it doesn't take a lot of thought to buy something extravagant but a little effort makes it really special... ( if i don't make sense its because i had 2 late nights and a BAD night last night)

How about you get a large picture frame and fill it with a montage of photos from the last 20 years of her life - or a photo album of these pictures with comments/memories to go with the photos?
