I do think Sprout being involved in any evil actions is quite far fetched. I rather tend to think that someone stole the plant from her. Someone inside Hogwarts. The some would go for Imperatus, I guess. Someone very close to Sprout, closer than Lucius.

You no longer think Sprout is evil? I'm confused and probably misread something...this thread was started by you as "Proof: Sprout is Evil", but in the post above you say that Sprout being involved in any evil actions is quite far-fetched...do you mean that all along you've felt someone is using Sprout to do evil things or did I miss something? :???: I'm really confused! :o

Do you think Neville stole the plant from Sprout using the Imperius curse, seeing as Neville knows about plants and visits St. Mungo's quite often? :???:

hehe. I said: "Proof: Sprout is evil...well, maybe not really."
What I meant to suggest was that she or her work is taken advantage of by somebody working for Voldemort. Sorry if that didn't come across. (I shouldn't write here in the middle of the night)
Sprout, of all, working for the dark side voluntarily is way too far fetched, I think. So, the headline is...well, not to be taken too seriously. But the thread itself is! :)

Sprout Evil? Don't think so....

Postby Athena Appleton » Sunday 25 January 2004 6:59:38am

I don't think Sprout is a Death Eater... but she teaches plenty of children of them... This post made me think a lot.
Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Nott... all of them are taught by Sprout, and all of them could have picked up on the info Hermione does (well, maybe not Crabbe and Goyle... they're kind of dunces, aren't they?) Draco especially seems as interested in being a future Death Eater as Fred, George, Ron, Ginny, Hermione and Harry are in being in the Order in the future. He'd be more than willing to remind dear old dad of anything dangerous that could be used to kill or hurt someone against Voldything.
Whatcha think?

Voldything...hehehe

Draco's definitely a possibility...although herbology seems to be his worst subject (he was bitten by a mandrake, I think). But the idea could have been Lucius's and Draco could have stolen the plant. But still I think that using plants to get rid of somebody doesn't seem like Malfoy's style...

Draco gets bitten by everything cuz he's a little punk kid who provokes creatures and other biting entities. 8-)
Not Daddy Malfoys style? Keep in mind, after being cleared of being a Death Eater, he made himself look VERY respectable by making donations, buddying up to the Minister, etc. etc. etc. He's tricky, and that was a tricky murder.

you know, that being bitten by a mandrake thing is purely a movie extra. We never actually get to hear about any of Draco Malfoy's herbology classes in the books because Gryffindor has herbology with Hufflepuff not Slytherin in the book so for all you know Drago Malfoy's best subject could be herbology, not like he would boast about it would he.....

But I wonder why he wouldn't want the Longbottoms to recover? Maybe there's something they could tell about him which he wouldn't want to be revealed. Wait...along with Barty Crouch jr and the Lestranges, wasn't there another DE at the trial that accused them of having tortured the Longbottoms? It was a man, but we've never been told his name. Maybe...Lucius? Or did I confuse anything?

I think Harry would have recognised Lucius Malfoy and therefore commented on it.

Not necessarily...not if JKR doesn't want him to yet! :-)
Maybe DD doesn't remember, maybe somebody put a memory charm on him from behind...okies, maybe not, but I still wonder who that man was.

well I think I agree bcse we all know how JKR drops important info into the books without breaking stride in the story just to keep us guessing.

About someone stealing the Devil's snare

why is it assumed that devil's snare is available only in Hogwarts? i mean the world is a huge place and it will be growing in many places. as for the DE's using it, maybe it is available in some illegal place (e.g) Knockturn Alley for a price. or they could apparate in a jungle where it is available and cut it.
And surely Lucius and co. know about it if kids like hermione and draco do

Sprout under the imperius curse? i think DD would have checked up on everyone after the fake moody was caught.
