Not to mention, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) is GREAT as a wimpy Mr. Darling/evil Captain Hook. Bit of theater trivia: did you know that according to theatrical tradition, dating back to the first stage production of Peter Pan, the same actor plays Mr. Darling and Captain James Hook? It's been that way in every Peter Pan movie, even the Disney one.

I didn't know that, interesting. But that's a wonderful movie, I loved it so much. Peter Pan used to be one of my favourite childhook books and now when Jason Isaacs plays there (I couldn't stop laughing at him attempt to 'conversation') I couldn't resist not going to see it to cinema. I think it's really well done, all the kids are so cute and Captain Hook... he's awsome!

Agreed! I love that movie. It was absolutley amazing. Also agreed about the Matrix. I didn't mind the first one as it wasn't one big action sequence that was lacking a plot but the second one.... 8-) was utter cr*p. I hated it so much I did't bother seeing the third.

I watched Revolutions just because I had seen the first two and thought that I might as well watch the third. OUCH!! Mr. Smith should have stuck with Elrond. and thats about all I have to say about that! :P

I agree about the Lord of the Rings except that the second ones the best. Personally I like the Return of the King. But it's all a matter of opinion anyway. 8)

i like return of the king too, except its got a wee bit of too much war in it, and it tends to drag at the end (when everyone's saying bye bye) but the cinematography in all three movies is gorgeous

I knew of course that it wouldn't be in the movie but I would have liked to see the hobbits reclaim the shire at the end from Sarumon.

Maybe that will be on the extended version.

the LOTR movies ruled!!
Return of the King was by far the best, in my opinion. the ending half an hour was too boring though. how much time does it take to say "goodbye" ???

i wanted to see Gandalf vs Saruman in Isengrad but they didnt show it.

Confused!

What scene from the book are you speaking of Groo.
The initial fight between the two was obviously in the first book and shown.
In the end Saruman never leaves the tower and Tree Beard is actually set by Gandalf as the gaurdian of the tower so that Saruman doesn't get out but as we all know (least wise those who have read the books) he does get out and takes over the Shire.
Unless you are talking about when Sarumon tries to put a spell over everyone with his voice but Gandalf doesn't allow it. I didn't remember them fighting at that point only Gandalf basically telling Saruman that his powers are useless now and that he has lost.
Hmmm now I will have to get the book again and see what battle Groo speaks of. :-?

sorry for the inadequate sentence in the previous post

by Gandalf vs Saruman i meant their confrontation in Isengrad's tower where Gandalf shows him that he is now Gandalf the white and not Gandalf the grey. also if i remember correctly, Saruman's wand is broken by gandalf. that would have been great to watch in the movie.

incidently, the movie did an excellent job of incorporating every detail from the third book. it was a really tough ask but they didnt skip anything. btw, does the dead army actually fight in the war or does it retreat after capturing the ships?

yups, seeing the 'scouring of the shire' would've been fun - and more interesting than all the goodbyes....

That would have been neat but unfortunately Peter Jackson never cared for that part of the book and therefore never filmed it. The closest you get is the allusion to it in the Fellowship when Frodo looks in the mirror of Galadriel.
