umm, since people who write are the ones to see this thread the most, i thought i'd let people know that i had an idea for a newspaper forum on the site and talked about it in the suggestions forum. take a look at it and say what you think!!!

oh, and, the story's lookin good! keep it up

He he, sorry for the delay...I had a bit of writers block...so I hope you are still enjoying the story, and if there is something you don't like, let me know...

Lavender enterupped Harry again,

“Because we don’t want children, isn’t that right Harry darling??? I mean life with children is so drab…children are loud, sticky, messy and…”

Molly Weasley cut in, “…and sweet and innocent and forever lovable…”

Molly Weasley had edged her way through the crowd, raising an eye brow to Lavender’s comments about children.

“Oh dear me, I don’t think we’ve met, I am Miss Lavender Brown, the FUTURE Mrs. Lavender Potter. And who might you be, darling?” Lavender said, holding out her perfectly polished hand, as if she expected Molly to kiss it.

Molly gave Harry a questioning look of surprise, and sighed.
“I’m Mrs. Molly Weasley, Ronald’s mother. And I had no idea Harry was getting married. I guess I ought to say congratulations.” Molly said in a voice that sounded as if she would rather be doing anything but congratulating Harry on his fiancée.

“Oh isn’t that nice.” Lavender said, in a falsely pleasant tone, which sounded as if she would rather be doing anything but talking to her fiance’s best friend’s mother.

Molly gave a glare to Lavender, and then clasped Harry’s hand.

“Really, Harry?” she said under her breath, as she walked away, clicking her heels loudly on the parquet.

Lavender glared after Molly, and Ron turned to see his mother’s reaction. However, Molly had not seen the glare, and was now angrily sending chopped carrots onto the vegetable plate on the buffet. Molly was waving her wand so vigorously, that one of the carrots missed the plate, hit the side of the punch bowl, and rocketed out into the crowd, hitting Moody in the good eye.

“Arghhhhhhh, come here you blarmey…” Moody roared, his electric blue eye rolling around and around, searching for the criminal who had attempted to assassinate him via carrot stick.

Ron was shaking with laughter, amused at the site of seeing Moody lift Percy straight off his seat to see if the criminal was hiding underneath him, when suddenly a jingly sort of rich laughter joined his own. Ron turned back to his wife and friends to see Lavender holding on to Harry’s arm in what seemed like a death grip, gushing about her wedding.

“Oh we will have live doves, of course, we wouldn’t want anything less, of course! And my dress will be made of pure white silk of course, from the finest silk worms in china, with pearl embroidery, of course, Harry and I wouldn’t want anything less…” Lavender gushed, as Harry looked as if his arm was losing feeling.

“…and we will have the finest flowers, shipped from all corners of the globe, of course, Harry and I wouldn’t want anything less, of course…”Lavender continued, as Harry tried to wiggle his arm from out of her death grip. Lavender only grasped tighter as she gushed on about the halibut being served at the reception. Harry gave Ron a look of pleading, as if to say “Get me out of here!”

Ron seized his chance when Lavender lifted her death grip off Harry’s arm to reapply her lipstick.

“Sorry ladies, I have to speak to Old Harry, here, I’m sure he’ll be back in a bit.” Ron said, taking Harry along by the elbow.

Lavender looked up and scowled at Ron, capping her lipstick, and then grabbing Hermione by the hand continuing to gush about her wedding.

Once out of Lavender’s ear shot, Harry breathed a sigh of relief.

‘Thanks a million Ron, I really owe you for that one. Once you get Lavender rolling on about the wedding, there is no stopping her.” Harry said, shaking his arm around to get the blood flowing around in it again, “But she’s amazing isn’t she?”

Meg, now that you're back from your camping-trip, are you going to continue your story?
I really want to know why exactly Harry thinks Lavender is amazing, because she is soo irritating!!

yep, here is more story, freshly written from the Microsoft Word...and I promise you now that this is not a romance, but I can't have my plot with out a bit of un requitted love, alright, but it won't become into a bodice ripper, ok?...here goes...

“Erm…yeah…amazing, that’s a word for it I suppose. But honestly Harry where did you meet up with Lavender? I mean you never let on about her in all of your owls!” Ron said, a bit upset that his best friend had not told him earlier about his fiancée.

The two young men walked up the creaky steps up to Ron’s old bedroom, every inch still plastered in 1000 yard orange. Clouds of dust danced in the light as it puffed out of the orange covers as Harry and Ron plopped down on Ron’s old bed. Ron stared at Harry impatiently as Harry coughed from the dust.

“Well, c’mon! You leave for two years and suddenly appear out of no where with plans to get hitched! There has to be something to say about that!” Ron said, drumming his fingers demandingly on his knee.

“Alright, alright!” Harry said, swiping the dust off his suit coat, “Lavender and I went our separate ways after Hogwarts. We never really got along during school, but a few weeks ago…”

“A FEW WEEKS AGO!” burst out Ron, turning a shade of violet that would revile Vernon Dursley, “You mean to tell me you’ve only been seeing this girl for a few a weeks!”

“She’s not just ‘this girl’!” shouted Harry, “She’s my girl, she is, and she loves me! We met at the Three Broomsticks last month when I was meeting Rita Skeeter for another interview for The Daily Prophet…they were doing an article about me becoming a famous auror and all, and suddenly Lavender just showed up and took my hand and offered to buy me a cup of coffee. And, well, we just hit it off.”

“But really Harry, a few weeks? Isn’t that a bit rash?” Ron said, turning back to his normal pink color.

“Ron! You’ve been around Hermione for too long….It’s my life, and I can do what I want for it. Everyone’s always been afraid for me taking risks, and seriously, this is one rash thing that feels right. I’ve never had the best of luck with girls; you know…you’ve seen my record with Cho and Ginny. But Lavender loves me, she cares for me and gives me the attention I’ve never gotten from anyone before! You just don’t understand, Ron, you’ll never understand.” Harry said, standing up and reaching for the door handle.

“What do you mean, I’ll never understand! I understand, that your record with girls isn’t that bad. Cho was just very confused because of Cedric, and well, Ginny…you just weren’t assertive enough. I’m sure if you two gave it another go…”

“Ron that’s the thing! I don’t want to give it another go! Lavender pays attention to me NOW, and that’s just something you’ll never understand. You’ve always had some one to love you unconditionally. You have your family and Hermione to love you, and pretty soon you’ll have your own baby that will love you and idolize you, and what I am? Some forgotten hero, who lives alone in a mansion with his owl as his only friend, chasing bad guys, trying to fill that void left in my heart. Ginny left me high and dry, while Lavender makes me feel like there is some one out there who cares, alright?”

“I’m sorry mate, that you feel that way, but I still think you ought to wait a bit before you tie your self to her for life!” Ron said, putting a hand on Harry’s shoulder.

“Well, you shouldn’t feel sorry! I am happy, okay?” Harry snarled, in a away that made Ron sure that Harry was anything but happy.

it seems harry misses the attention he used to get. he got a bit too large of a head those seven years at hogwarts perhaps.

Whoops...well, I couldn't help it...it was just asking me to be snarky when you wrote that...he he he...

well since, I am being dumb and not doing my chores (whoops) here is more story!

“Alright, Harry…I see your point. Let’s go back down to the party, shall we? I’m sure Lavender will be missing you, I’m sure.” Ron said, shrugging his shoulders in defeat.

“Ok, then. Anyways, how’s your life?” Harry said, taking a calming deep breath.

“Not bad, I must say. I play keeper for the Cannons, and well although we are still ninth in the league, I feel that this is our year! Of course on the off season I run The Qudditch Supply Store on Diagon Alley now; we get a pretty good business, although I would never be able to compare to Fred and George. Those two are just incredibly wealthy. I mean they gave me the gold that I needed to buy the quidditch store from the former owners. I’ve paid them back in full of course.” Ron said, swelling with pride.

“You do have it made, Ron. Loving wife, thriving business, and soon to be child.” Harry said, with a bit of sorrow in his voice.

“Well, Harry, you have it too! I mean you have fame, I mean everyone wants to be you, riches beyond belief, a mansion, and a gorgeous fiancée! Mean that’s living.” Ron said, trying his best to improve Harry’s mind set.

“I guess so. Hmm, oh well, to the party, shall we?” Harry said, opening Ron’s door.

“I suppose so, you first.” Ron said, thrusting his hand out.

Back at the party Hermione had escaped the grip of Lavender and was chatting to Ginny. Ginny looked up and met eyes with Harry, who quickly looked busy scanning the room for Lavender.

Lavender was sitting at the table with Neville, Susan, and Seamus. Neville and Susan were talking together, flipping through Seamus’s many glossies and magazines. Seamus, however, had his hand on top of Lavender’s who was giggling again in that rich jingly sort of laughter. She tossed her head back, and her soft dark curls bounced as she flashed a smile in Seamus’s direction.

Harry noticed this, and stormed over to the table. He glared at Seamus, as Lavender suddenly noticed Harry’s presence.

“Harry, darling! I missed you so! Don’t you know better than to leave your little Lavender alone?” Lavender giggled, as she stood up, reaching for Harry’s hand.

“I suppose not. What were you and Seamus talking about.” Harry demanded

“Well, Harry dear,” Lavender said, floating back to her seat next to Seamus, “Seamus is going to try and get me into pictures! Can’t you see it! The Great Lavender Potter, wait no, I’ll keep my maiden name, it sounds better, The Great Lavender Brown, on the covers of magazine everywhere, flashing her smile and winking, melting the hearts of men everywhere? It would be just divine! I would just die!”

“How exactly is he going to do that?” demanded Harry, this time crossing his arms in frustration.

“Well, Seamus is extremely famous!” Lavender grabbed a glossy from Susan’s grasp, “See here, he’s in pictures, and he is going to pull some strings so I can be in pictures too!”

As Ron looked from Harry's angered face to Lavender's wide-eyed innocent one, he couldn't help but notice Susan roll her eyes.[/i]

I have just returned from Professor Trelawney's class and I see amazing things in your future. I see you now, 90 years old, innumerable typos later, still cranking out those HP books like that gal who kept Nancy Drew's gloves clean and her convertible waxed year after year for joyrides with Beth and George and Ned Nickerson.

erm, thanks Rev Mom, I'm not sure how I want to take that...I really don't want to be a Ghost Writer, i'd much rather prefer to write my own stories and novels when I grow up; I just write Fan Fiction for fun because I am still in high school, you know...oh well...here is more story!

“I suppose so, but I thought we’d go back to my home in Godric’s Hollow and start our life there. Don’t you want that, Lavender?” Harry said, looking thoroughly perplexed.

Lavender laughed again, this time in the same fake tone she had used with Molly Weasley.

“Harry, darling, this is NOT the time to discuss such matters” she said, uneasily flicking her curls off her shoulders again, “We will do that LATER!”
The party went on late into the night, finally ending when Hermione had fallen asleep on the Weasley's davenport. Each guest left, giving Ron their final words of congradulations, tipping their hat or waving a hand. Lavender and Harry were last of all; Harry seemed a bit under the weather, while Lavender was her usual cheery, floaty self.

"Oh Ron dear, please let me know when the baby comes, I would just love to look at the child, but you just simply must let me know ahead of time so I don't wear a good set of robes! We wouldn't want baby sit up on my lovely outfits, now would we darling?"

Harry nodded his head in agreement, then shook Ron's hand good-bye.

"Good luck old boy, send me an owl if you would like to get together sometime," Ron said, returning the shake

"Alright then, see you soon, and let me know the moment your baby comes! I don't even care if I am dressed in the finest silk of china, alright?" Harry chuckled, showing a hint of the Harry, Ron had known once.

Harry went home that night alone, after he had dropped Lavender off at her parents home, not even bothering to apparate. He walked alone, not knowing exactly where he was going, but then suddenly he felt himself hit the pavement in a broken run. The light posts gave him a dingy orange light to run by, but it didn’t matter. Harry had no idea where his legs were taking him. This was a run of faith, not one by sight. How many of these had he had by now? A flight where it was the heart that led, not the eyes was something that Harry knew as normal. And this run, was nothing out of the ordinary.

Sweat beads ran down his cheeks by now, and he had long thrown off his suit jacket. He ran, and ran, breathing hard, his dress shoes slapping uncomfortably on the pavement, when suddenly there was a lurch around his navel and Harry felt him self flying through the air…”It couldn’t be? Could it?” Harry thought

Harry’s face hit the pavement that was cooling down from the day’s scorching heat, scraping his chin, bringing blood to the surface. As he rose from the pavement, he realized his fear of random portkey travel hadn’t occurred; he had just tripped over some stupid piece of rubbish on the walkway.

Harry stood up and limped a little towards the piece of rubbish. He carefully picked it up, and found it to be a smooth brown earthen ware basin. He ran his fingers around the inside rim of the basin, and as he did, he felt a sort of electric shock that shot through each finger, not very harsh, but a light tingling sensation. An echo of wisdom rang through his head as he felt the edge of the bowl, “Never trust something if you can’t see where it keeps it’s brain.”

“It’s just a silly bowl,” Harry thought to himself, but yet something told him not to throw it aside.

This is the first time I've read your story, and I read it all the way through with enthusiasm! This is really well written Meg. Your descriptions make it very easy for me to picture things in my head. So lets see, my comments on the story... I dont like Lavander very much I dont think, and why was Seamus so excited to see her?? Also, I know this is going way back to the first installment, but the nosy neighbor situation reminds me of the old TV show, Bewitched, if any of you have seen it you'll know what I mean!

hey meg, this is really great! i also just started reading the story and have read it all the way through with vim and vigor!

it makes me sad, though... to find harry grown up and not with one of the girls we always thought he'd be with, rich and without any real friends poor harry!

Later that night Harry lay awake in his bed, sweating in the stifling heat. The air in his bed room was thick with the late summer smells of flowers, so sickly sweet it was suffocating to breathe it in. He rolled out of his bed making the ancient bed springs creak and moan. He stood up and crossed the room towards his window, where his gauzy white curtains hung limply. Harry pried his window open, so a small breeze trickled in, making the curtains dance around him. He looked the dancing white curtains, so pure and airy, just dancing around him. The curtains frolicked around, sweeping its sweet folds around and around in the summer breeze taking no notice of the pale, peaked man who gripped the side of the sill, gasping for air.

Harry grasped the side of the rotting sill, hanging his head outside the window to catch a breath of breezy air, but all he got was the sickly perfumed air that hung around his bed room. He felt as if everything inside of him were churning, twisting around and around, swirling and bubbling, waiting until the time came where it all boiled over.

A rich jingly laughter rang in is head again, bouncing around and around the emptiness of his nighttime brain. It sounded softly then echoed louder than a cannon’s blast. It laughed, laughed on and on as Harry ran back to the window and gripped the side of the window as the laughter grew louder, and higher and colder.

The high pitched cruel laughter rung in Harry’s ears. He broke out into a cold sweat and flung his torso farther out of the window. His mind was no longer empty...
