Welcome to Broomsticks and Owls' Harry Potter Wizard Chess Club, where you can enjoy a game of Wizard chess across the internet with other fellow (and fellowette) Wizards, Witches and Harry Potter fans across the whole world. Rather than having to play a whizz-bang quick real-time game all in one go, this Wizard-Chess game is designed to be played at a pleasant leisurely speed, and allows you to connect back to your ongoing game at any time, so you can check whether your opponent has made a move every now and then, maybe between your day's surfing online, and make your own move in return.
Our chess club has its own rating system, based on the same system created by Arpad Elo and used by the World Chess Federation (FIDE - Federation Internationale Des Echecs). There's a chart of your rating over time and a board displaying the rankings of all users who have played more than three games. Within the Wizard Chess Club you'll find a search system to let you look for open or archived games, and a game history browser which enables you to view game replays including views from both sides (black and white pieces). There's even an intriguing strategic view facility giving a colored representation of the strength of each side, which you can view as you're playing, and more to enjoy too.
Don't forget to discuss your strategies and games in our Magical Games section of our Harry Potter forum where you can get to know other players and be part of our friendly Wizarding community.
To start a new game, either choose someone in the User Rankings table, or challenge someone on our Harry Potter forum. Or why not tell a friend and get them to join. Whichever way, make sure you know the Wizard Chess Club username of the person you want to play, and then just enter their username in the "Play against someone" box on the Chess club's "Home" page once you're logged in.
Join our Wizard Chess Club today and start enjoying the fun.
